clearly a leopard gecko by the thumbnail...i don't know what you plan on doing to make this bioactive, springtails need more moisture and it will be a waste of money to use isopods since you will be limited to only a few species for an arid setup and any lizards you put in there will eat them. The only cheap ones for arid setups would be giant canyons.
I heard that adult mealworms and/or Dermestid beetles can be a good cleanup crew. Also, there are arid springtails. Also, the lower layers of substrate would be moist, so they should do well. I'm not worried about the animal eating them out because many people have kept a cleanup crew successfully with them before.
What about isopods or springtails ? And i feel like most likely a african fat tailed gecko or leopard gecko
