    I was wondering why my Lucifers didn't grow this year, I'll dig them up and give that a try,, Thanks for the Tips,,, Looking Good (;

    Cardinal flower and black eyed susans: gorgeous plants but won't work for me. Neighbor had huge clumps of her phlox grazed and gone.
    Hot & humid, dry clay soil, lots of big tree roots and loads of deer and rabbits ... In other words my yard is a plant death zone .. gotta be tough and hardy to survive here.

      The perennial Black Eyed Susans are extremely tough and growing in conditions similar to yours. Their foliage is low to the ground, too. I've never had any problem with rabbits grazing them, so I think you should give those a go!
