Agreed. To be blunt, I don't think there is any version of Batman that has _ever_ managed to take the wind out of Joker's sails to this degree. Honestly, in spite of the silliness, this actually felt in-character for the Dark Knight(up until the last sentence at least). Joker is a psychopath who tortures and kills almost _constantly._ His whole schtick is making the world share in his sick joke, no matter how many lives he has to ruin or end in the process. This incarnation of Batman might be an egomaniac, but he has his priorities straight: deal with the upstart rodeo clown or save hundreds of thousands of innocent lives? No contest. The _only_ reason he held onto Joker's balloon as long as he did was to make sure the Jester of Genocide knew _exactly_ how little he cared about him escaping if it meant Gotham City would survive another night. To make things even more satisfying, it appears this particular variant of the Clown Prince of Chaos possesses aspects of his _Arkham_ incarnation. Why is this important, you ask? Because the producers saw fit to give this Joker the single most vulnerable trait that the Arkham version possessed: fear. This Joker, like his Arkham variant, fears being forgotten above everything else. So the fact that the one person who can properly stand up and fight against his level of crazy deems him _meaningless?_ Batman could have probably *crucified* him on Darkseid's Agony Matrix and it _still_ wouldn't match up to just how much the Dark Knight has hurt him.
Talk about Emotional Damage...
And not even the meme kind either that was just... Brutal.
