- Stunning aurora borealis, commonly known as the northern lights, illuminated the winter night sky with red and green across China's northernmost city of Mohe on Friday, captivating tourists and photographers.
The aurora borealis also happened in the capital city of China, Beijing, on Friday night, which lies at 40 degrees north latitude.
China's National Center for Space Weather issued an alert for a strong geomagnetic storm from Nov. 30 To Dec. 2, indicating the likelihood of a moderate to strong geomagnetic storm on Friday. This forecast led to the anticipation of the magnificent display.
