The irony in the video is that he's seeking validation in the way he presents himself (his 'fit', driving to school without his license, talking it up with girls, talking about playing varsity level football, etc) when he's got other things to focus on like finding his classrooms and making a good impression with his teachers so they don't single him out and make the semester harder on him than it needs to be.
