- Danny Parkins shared his top three candidates to be the next head coach of the Chicago Bears in the event the team fires Matt Eberflus during or after this 2023 season. To no one's surprise, all three coaches whom Parkins is eyeing are offensive-minded. Watch to find out who they are.

@@anthonyray5713I've been a Bears fan since the early 60s and the fans do deserve better, mainly a competitive team game in and game out. The ownership is getting what they deserve, not the fans who pay to watch this team.
No fan base deserves a horrible team. But if you pay to go to games at this point it’s your own fault tbh.
Danny, you're naming a bunch of coordinators who have never been head coaches before. Isn't that how we got here? I'm concerned that hiring yet another coordinator as Bears head coach would keep them trapped in this cycle of failure. I'm tired of this "roll dice with fingers crossed" approach to hiring head coaches. By the way, I think that both Poles and Eberflus need to go at season's end. Not impressed with either one of them.
And yet the last few times we tried hiring a coach with head coaching experience, that didn’t work out well for us either.
Who's the proven offensive-minded HC who's looking for work? Are you hoping for Mike McCarthy?

caleb williams will not enter the draft if the bears have a top 5 pick. Same for the Cardinals and Raiders. He'll return to usc. That's the beauty of the NIL. Players have a bit more leverage and bargaining power. Forces owners, and GMs to get their acts together.
He can also go back to college and blow out his knee and not get drafted. Good luck with that.

3. Olin Kruetz -- maybe better as an O line coach or an OC to start, but could eventually see him as a good HC as well.

How about they actually, and finally pay some of their plentiful cash reserves for a proven, winning NFL or college head coach instead of the same roll-the-dice practice of hiring inexpensive assistant coaches to be first time HCs? If they somehow get a crack at the #1 pick and Caleb Williams, sure, entice him and put him in a better position to succeed by hiring USCs HC. I wanted them to do the same for Fields by hiring Ryan Day.
You can't just make a college HC the HC of your NFL team just because you drafted the QB he coached in college. I don't know that I would even want a college qb who needs his hand held like that, that he needs his college coach to come with him to the pros, and I certainly don't want a dude who says he's going to stay one more year in college to avoid being drafted by a certain team. That's called having a weak constitution despite having a ridiculous skillset. That mindset has bust as a player written all over it. I am also not sold on the notion that a college HC is any more primed and ready to be an NFL HC than is an offensive or defensive coordinator. NFL game and college game are night and day different. To me, the next progression for a college HC, is to become a coordinator on an NFL team.

Why do you need to hire and “offensive” coach? If you hire a good OC you don’t need and offensive HC.
If our OC turns out to be good he'll be hired as a head coach elsewhere. We need continuity.

We had this same scenario last off season with Bryce Young and how's that going??? It is telling that the guy that McVay absolutely gave up on is playing so well for a full year now. It doesn't mean it's because of Johnson, but it's not nothing.
Goff's stats are pretty much identical to his time on the Rams. Just curious what exactly is ben johnson doing that would help him coach the bears... Is it play calling? Everyone points at Goff. But Goff was never that bad. Staffords best ability is to play behind terrible O lines and succeed which is what the Rams needed.@@thevoxdeus

Dan Quinn. I know it might sound crazy to double down with another defensive coach, but Quinn has been a HC before and he is a better defensive coach than Flus. We have lost 14 straight not because of QB play but because the defense has given up 25 points or more in every loss on this streak. Denver has a QB that is going to make the hall of fame and they are almost worst than us because they have the second worst defense in the league.
Jim Harbaugh has all that experience but with a .690 winning percentage in the NFL.
