20:15 Knowledge is just a collection of ideas. Wisdom is the synthesis of the practice of those ideas - and it’s only wisdom when you are sure it works.
26:15 Paul’s laundry list of injuries
27:00 4 Life Cycles (birth to death): 1) Child stage, 2) Warrior stage, 3) King/Queen stage, 4) Wise Man/Wise Woman stage
46:17 We're traveling at 68,000 miles an hour, and nobody's at the wheel (while we're destroying the spaceship).
48:00 We have a drug-happy culture that's been conditioned to sell their problems to doctors. People want to sell and medicate their problems away, so that they can continue to keep living dysfunction-ally.
50:30 Growing up on a farm and his father.
1:02:00 Our educational system is very dysfunctional. It teaches you WHAT to learn, but it doesn't teach you HOW to learn (Peter Drucker also elaborates on this).
1:04:00 The value of real-world practicality, empiricism and getting results - learned on a farm.
1:14:30 "How my farm-boy, not academically trained mind would process information." "People with very fancy degrees had not learned HOW to think, they were taught WHAT to think." "They were doing so much research that it wasn't grounded in reality, and would look good on paper."
1:18:20 Grew up on Vancouver island, was a hunter. Soldier in the 82nd Airborne Division.
1:22:30 You realize that having an open mind, and observing, and paying attention and practicing will always take you where you need to go, and is far more important than listening to "some dude standing in front of a class called a professor telling you what to do."
1:24:20 "It's not that academia's bad - it's that 1) it doesn't make the gap to practical application, and 2) it is often so segmented that it makes the mistake of believing partial truths as facts."
1:25:00 Scientific studies are like knives. You've got to be very careful with a knife - it can be helpful tool, but it can be a dangerous tool.
1:26:30 It takes 7 years in Russia to get a message therapy license, and MT's are treated the same as medical doctors in Russia.
1:30:20 The old-school doctors were doing honest research, they weren't being paid off to prove or disprove medical research. The older books are loaded with fantastic stuff.
1:38:30 "Professional, nose-up horse shit" (not certified, can't touch the spine). The BEST therapists and the best docts are the most open minded (don't play the silly games).
1:43:30 Paul went to PA (physician's assistant) school to study medical injection.
1:49:30 The definitive text on medical research, used in all med. schools.
1:53:00 "I work with very expensive athletes and people I cannot fuck around with."
1:59:00 Your breathing cycles tie into astronomical cycles.
2:07:00 Christianity and the meaning of the name Jesus Christ (be Christ-like). Christianity is one of the most radical religions if you get to the core tenants of it. But, people are studying corporate Christianity instead (profit motive).
2:09:50 "How many people teaching at churches or temples (*or academia, for that matter!) are actually enlightened? Almost NONE. So what are you getting? Poor interpretations from underdeveloped people who should not be teaching. It would be like having fat, sick people teaching exercise in a gym" (*Mark Rippetoe)
**Paul would love the book Antifragile, by N. Taleb! (strongest argument for empiricism vs. theory)

There are comments on what you don’t like what Paul said , his fees for courses , books , etc. However , did you register with the wisdom he was speaking and expressing ? Whether you have your thoughts on what meat does , or how disease came about , or his courses are too expensive , did you get the message ? Damm , put your ego aside and learn and enjoy. I will and have paid for his wisdom and I’ve , like I’m doing now gotten his work for free 😐 on UA-cam 😐 like ... you. Take the knowledge and what ever is applicable for you , use it. He’s 30 years of experience of what to do and what not to do. What more can you ask for ?

Though I've not met you in person, your words make it clear to me that you have an open mind, will learn a lot in your life, and share your love and the fruits of your experiences with many.
Thanks for being a grounding rod for so many that don't realize that what they are doing isn't actually constructive thinking, but simply a rearrangement of their own prejudices. Jung says, "Thinking is hard, that's why most people judge."
After a while though, all people that live outside the consensus reality learn to have empathy for developing minds. It is pretty well established that people often resist what they need most, but many wake up one day realizing that their beliefs are not producing health or freedom, and then their ears and eyes become more finely tuned :-)
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

Paul may be a revolutionary master of physical fitness and functional exercise, but that's far from his only area of expertise. I've been looking for spiritual and social-life advice from a lot of sources and done work to grow there myself, but Paul has truly fitting stuff in there when he speaks about it. He understands the core concepts so well, and I think that's what allows him to do all this stuff successfully.

Hey Paul. Thank you for all the time you put into sharing with us. I have been following your work for a few years now and this year I am stepping up to become a coach to deliver the much needed help and leadership to my community to make an impact out there. I look forward to beginning my qualifications with your institute this year. I am currently doing my personal training qualification and it is a joke how bad the material (or lack of) that is covered. Your message is coming through loud and clear to me and I am excited about this new change. I love to hear your thoughts on quantum computation, Virtual Reality and unleashing the dragon. I am very enthusiastic for this development but when I discuss ith with others they do not understand or are very afraid as their vision is of a dystopia which is the general portrayal in tv shows and movies.

    • @PaulChekLive
      @PaulChekLive 6 років тому +3

      Hello,
Sadly, most personal trainer certifications are very weak and do not even come close to adequately preparing the student to effectively engage an ill and largely sedentary population effectively, nor how to individualize exercise programs to meet individual needs. Once you are ready to learn a truly holistic, scientific approach to exercise, assessment, and the relevant diet and lifestyle factors that need to be considered to make exercise effective for long term participation, have a look at our C.H.E.K Exercise Coach program at www.chekinstitute.com
Quantum computation, in my opinion, is a double edged sword....If you look at how the planet is largely being controlled by large corporations that use standard computer technology to troll, spy on, and manipulate marketing and media for predatory sales, or how many governments use computer technology to invade people's privacy, including other countries, its not a big leap to realize that the use of quantum computation without a sizable dose of morality (life affirmative codes of conduct) could easily lead to dangerous levels of fascism.
One need not have a lot of imagination to consider the dangers of someone like Donald Trump having the advantages of quantum computation over many other countries that don't...or what he'd do to use it as a means of controlling anyone that doesn't follow his dictates, not to mention how he may use such technology to further destroy the planet in the name of money....let alone what could happen if others just as dangerous running other countries were to have such technology...
Then we have the very real issue of A.I. (artificial intelligence) and the huge can of worms that will open when you start mixing AI with robotics, nanotechnology, or have entities operated by AI that don't need natural resources to carry out programming; what if AI entities reach the level of being able to alter their own programming to meet "their own agenda?"! Most people don't want to think about such issues because they are like ostriches hiding their head in the dirt hoping their predators don't see them...
Flipping the coin now: Quantum computation could very likely provide scientific information about the universe, and what we are in the grand scheme of things that could both affirm what mystics have been telling us for thousands of years, and potentially unify religions to a degree that religiously motivated war is diminished to some degree.
Quantum computation could tell us of the actual status of Earth's vital signs and what needs to be done for our own survival, which is locked into that of the earth. It could give us radically powerful healing technologies. It could inform us of the long range consequences (based on probability) of the above sited issues and more... It could help us rebuild our banking or money exchange systems and greatly enhance world economics. It could help us develop MUCH more effective education systems. It could give us the ability for interstellar space travel based on quantum principles, such as bi-location, inter-dimensional travel, and give us the ability to reach civilizations more wise and advanced than ours in other regions of the universe, and much more....
Without spending more time than I have to donate to the issue here, I hope you'd agree that quantum computation can make us, or destroy us.... When you consider that humans can barely handle existing weapons technology, drugs, food, nature, chemicals, waste management, etc,... and are very poor at caring for the planet, and have a real tendency to try and take short cuts with "science" that seem like they make things easier (microwave ovens for example), but ultimately prove deleterious, a mystery appears...and without a collective myth to guide us that is life affirmative, we risk becoming fossils that tell a sad story about us to some future intelligence that visits earth.
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

    • @Secxbravo
      @Secxbravo 6 років тому +1

      Thank you for your response.
I do agree that quantum computation is a double-edged sword with the potential for both good and evil, I suppose time will tell.
It is up to us to decide which path to take.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4 : 12

well, music is really annoyingly loud until at least minute ten, and that is where they lost me. If I have to skip and search for parts with normal audio... Well, I have no time for that. I might have will and time tomorrow. Maybe. And I will whine about whatever the fuck I want, thank you. :*

I'm just naturally skeptical about someone who referneces themselves so much.....no need to talk about such guff as he starts around 2.40, goes on to talk about parasympatheic and sympathetic nervous systems....left brain right brain...blah blah vlah. Ok, eat well, do some exercise, think about what you're doing (meditation), nothing special about it, so stop the guru shit! Anyone who needs a guy like this to spoon feed them basic nutrition and exercise ...well, you need it. For most people this is just typical egotistical guff.

If anyone is interested in the trapped emotions, then read Dr. Bradly Nelson. Last I checked it was available on UA-cam.

I guess you didn't listen when I shared that "there are good doctors out there", and "Its not that all academic education is bad; there are people out there that use it effectively" in paraphrase. When we listen without filtering through our biases, we have a greater chance of hearing what is actually being shared.
      Love and chi,
