Ben, that was a really enjoyable discussion and I loved every minute of it. Thank you for putting this together! But he’s an architect and you didn’t think for a moment to ask him about the amazing Porsche Museum?!! That building is incredible! I wondered what he thought of it and if he had anything to do with the design. Oh well, maybe next time 😊

This was fun and great to get to know Ferdi a little more as he’s become more involved with Porsche while still doing his own initiatives.

The fact that they are discussing how approachable brands Rolex and Porsche are for the consumer tells a lot about the direction Hodinkee has taken over the years

I understand how this is not a Talking Watches episode, but the video is published by Hodinkee - a watch magazine. Not only were images of the watches missing, but images of the cars discussed were missing as well. Interesting discussion, but given the presentation, it should have been an audio podcast.

I really don't understand the hate, this is not an episode of Talking Watches. It is a new concept and we knew it wasn't going to be all about watches. I think they are doing great with this, it is more like a chat between two close friends which is great for a podcast/videocast which was the main intention of creating the series. Ideal for listening while commuting. P.S. Watches and motorsports have a huge connection, especially the Porsche brand which makes this video technically watch-related content.

Yikes, lots of hate in the comments. I loved this, but I also love Porsche and design in general, which Ferdi oozes obviously. Obviously the premise of Ben Clymer Presents hasn't reached everyone watching these videos which is too bad. I think it's a cool concept and good way to connect watches to the greater world at large (some watch enthusiasts seem to have forgotten such a world exists or that it might be equally interesting to comparing Rolex reference nos)

Sigh. I’m tying to think of some constructive criticism here, but sadly I think the reality is that Hodinkee had carved out a great niche and really tapped into the growing love of watches 5 years ago. Somehow the cultural zeitgeist has changed and Hodinkee has been left behind. I fear it’s terminal.

I for one am more than happy to hear Ben chat with people and things he's interested in. He's a great speaker and I would much rather listen to some slightly more intellectual discussion than hear about another lug-to-lug measurement or whether or not it can be 'slipped under a dress cuff'. Like f@ck me guys, I'm a big watch fan but there are only so many to talk about 🤷‍♂

I am struggling with my thoughts regarding this video. First, Hodinkee is a watch information portal, so I have always looked to it for that reason. I understand that the vision of these chats are not to be 100% watch-related, but there was too little of it here. I was not in any way drawn into this discussion; it did not captivate me whatsoever. There was way too much about cars here. I do fully understand the partnership between watches and motor sports; they are tightly linked. But, the entertainment value for me was virtually completely lacking. I was bored, and this was the first Hodinkee video I yearned to end. However, Ben’s passion for his life’s pursuits are always framed well. Thank you for hearing my thoughts. I appreciate the time nd effort these must take to produce.

I'm really concerned about this, as I usually never leave feedback on videos if they're bad, but I just can't stay quiet anymore. I have to agree with the previous comments because I am a huge fan of watching content. Hodinkee used to dominate this space, but now it feels like they're just wasting everyone's time. It's not captivating, entertaining, or anything of the sort. I have no idea what this new series is supposed to be, but it's definitely not good. Maybe Hodinkee is becoming obsolete. I never thought I would say this, but I'd rather watch Archie Luxury instead, at least he's genuine & entertaining. These are just my thoughts, for what they're worth.

    1. Ben, you don’t have to say “Right” and “Sure” and “Yeah” after every sentence the guest utters. It’s distracting. Makes the listen tough.
    2. This looks like it was shot on an iPhone. Definitely needs to be shot better and color graded in a more interesting way to be a visual podcast up to the standard we expect from Hodinkee. The close ups are more in line I guess. This set up isn’t great or interesting visually so might wanna spruce things up.
    3. I understand the idea of uploading a full convo but these should still be edited lightly to be less sloppy. The conversation drags at times.
    4. Find a way to make the watch connection more prominent when the guest isn’t a watch specific person. Otherwise it doesn’t work for Hodinkee fans.

I had to turn this one off. After wondering why, I decided I’m not interested in or compelled by Ben. Maybe he’s not wired to be an interviewer or presenter, and his real talents lie elsewhere? There are other Hodinkee staff, both past and present that keep me engaged. I don’t mean for this comment to be unkind. I’m sorry if it comes across that way.

This was incredibly boring. Some simple edits of adding historical footage of Porsche, the watches, the uncle and the design studio would have helped. I'm not sure what the point of this video series is. It certainly drives the point that Hodinkee is for a class of people where money isn't an object. The color grading is terrible, and the storytelling is not there. Go back to the drawing board on season 2.

Porche has the same problem as some watch brands. The models/generations sound like nothing. The Porche 583, the 824, 592 and the 483 vs the SPB58494, SLA59773-496... You instantly sound less cool to anyone that not as into it. And that's most people.

I love Hodinkee....but I also notice some bad feedback from your general audience.....and the only problem is,Hodinkee just started to show some muscles in general, big investments, big names....people are jealous, even in a such narrow hobby like watches....ya all need to understand, you can't keep alive such watch media like Hodinkee if you are not involving people who create watches that all of you love...and it's logical, that LVMH will represent someone with last name Arnault, they created that conglomerate for generations,so just start to accept the fact that it's just NORMAL....and it will remain the same way forever.
