didnt you say buy original art if you can? and then you get the knock off heart. and that's ripping off a individual not even a company :( wash them bags and cups really well ;D
@quillclock I wanted to see and laugh at how bad they were, I was surprised/disappointed that they were decent. I made it abundantly clear that I don't support buying knockoffs. Hence the blog post with links to artists' shops.
Seeing someone have such a candid and honest look at the app was really interesting to see! Btw please be careful when using any of the products that are made of resin and are implied to be for candles/anything that heats up. There's a chance that the resin used is very flimsy or could even be toxic when reheated after the moulding process, so it's probably best to use fake candles with any of the temu items. Unfortunately, companies like this are often known for sourcing from places with health violations even involving homeware and plastics.
I'm gonna assume this isn't common knowledge, but a lot of Etsy sellers buy cheap products like these and sell them for more. I know for certain some of the things you were crediting Etsy sellers for designing weren't designed by a singular Etsy seller. No harm done, I just think everyone should know Etsy has become a lot of reselling. Be careful all!
I've often wondered about that. I know some of them are legit, but I had concerns about many of them doing exactly this and just saying that they made the item :(
do you have proof of this?? I've only ever bought high quality original artwork and jewelry from Etsy. you can tell its hand made because of the way wire was bent and the way paint is actually on canvases. I've bought art from China and it literally a printed jpeg on canvas. like you can see the pixels and the messed up aspect ratio. also i know 3 ppl irl who sell their art and clothing on there. you gotta report these ppl.
@@quillclock ive sold on etsy for years and the majority of shops on there now are dropshippers and chinese shops blatantly pretending to be handmade in the usa etc. reporting doesn't do anything etsy makes so much money off of allowing it 🫠 its really really hard finding genuine shops now
Yeah I realised that about 2011, once I really got into Etsy. And it's just got worse since. It's sickening that ppl are making an income selling things they got super cheap because they were made unethically, and didn't do anything with, just took some pictures. Putting a premade charm on a premade chain isn't "making" it, by the way. But others are even worse, simply unwrapping the item.

I can confirm. My debit card information was stolen. I had 5 purchase attempts from Wayfair and Walmart. Luckily my bank stopped the transactions and the card and sent me a new card in the mail. And for a record, I have never bought anything from Wayfair. I do not recommend shopping on Temu because of the fact.

Not surprised youve got a few things that look familiar but of decent quality- It's a known thing that some factories will 100% steal your design and turn around and sell it generic. Totally, a lot of brands who get their stuff made in China, like you say, the manufacturer already has the mould/design so they just reproduce the product using cheaper materials. Extremely cheeky, very challenging to find a good manufacturer I hear.
Even if you don't manufacture in China, there are scouts who go to trade shows to get samples to use as the basis for knock offs. This is really easy for anything that can be made using molds. Of course, with the Chinese versions made by anonymous factories, no Western brand attached or just a made-up Chinese brand, you are running a serious risk of contaminated products that will expose you to heavy metals and various poisons. those blood bags with the clips, the re filler, and even the stickers are identical to the ones i bought at joanns fabric during Halloween for 3x the price.
i ordered 2 of those skull planters a couple of months ago for my bedroom and put plastic plants in them and i love them so much, i kinda wanna get more for my livingroom lol 🖤
I bought a couple of cute floral headbands for under $3, free shipping. They got to me in a week. When I use Wish, which also seems to have everything, it takes an entire month to get to me and I start to wonder if I was scammed, and the shipping prices are insane. Plus, Wish products always feel cheap. But the headbands I bought from Temu are very lovely, and smooth, but not so silky that they don't stay on my head, so they have an excellent grip. Overall, a positive experience.
I'm only part way through, but I've noticed one item that's clearly a rip off of someone i know on Etsy 😅 are we allowed to say who? Either way, it's interesting to see these things in real life and to get an honest review, thankyou for your refreshing honesty as always! Hoping you and the family are doing well 🖤
My mum is obsessed with Temu 😂 She likes buying me things and bought me a skirt which was made from some terrible nylon fabric and was a strange length. She also bought me a foot massager mat that didn’t work. I have had some claw hair clips which were “fine” 😂 but I’d rather buy from elsewhere tbh.
wow, ur makeup video looks so cool, dreamy, & welcomingly haunting at lowest resolution ( 144p ), as I listen to dark ambient instrumental goth sounds in the background
Great review! I've only purchased one thing from Temu, a pair of boots, Nightmare Before Christmas. They are nice quality but aren't too comfortable, I recently got some shoe insoles for them but can't wear them yet because I'm pregnant and my feel are swollen. The only thing I don't like about Temu so far to my knowlege is that it doesn't appear that they have a favorites section.
I've bought quite a bit from them now and so far the only sort of let downs are hoodies being short in the body, some scratches on a window suncatcher and some less than accurate pokemon Croc pin things. Here in England, I do find some of the prices more than I'd expect but definitely some good deals. All depends what you're after.
I love my squaty potty but mine isn't as cool as yours. Also the first batwing pins we call them clothes pins here in the states and use the on clothes lines to dry out wet clothes out of the washing machine. I love everything thing that you bought ❤
14:49 eeyyy, I have that one! I got it from the Large (probably the biggest / best known alternative shop in the Netherlands) and I absolutely love it. After seeing the close-up I noticed it's not exactly the same item. The dangly gem is a clear red one on mine. I paid € 7,64 for it.
I've heard people singing Temu's praises and I wanted to find a copycat dress that I had seen a friend of mine wearing at a party, so I bought one that looked identical and I was very disappointed when I tried it on. The dress was like $23 so it wasn't terribly cheap or terribly expensive, but the top of it felt like a shitty Halloween costume, so that will be going back. I think that what you bought is incredibly cute and I'm so happy that you're happy with your purchases, but first impression for me was disappointingly bad
A lot of their clothes are awful, but I've bought clothes off of Amazon and ModCloth and found the exact same ones on Temu. Bought them in different colors, clearly the same manufacturer but 60-80% less. Same with household goods. You've really got to examine the listing and reviews. There are people complaining here about sweatshops but US corporations use the same manufacturers in China and mark it up a ton, it's hard to avoid. I've been pretty happy with most of the stuff, with a few exceptions. Their tshirts are horrible. (I already responded but my comment disappeared, maybe it won't this time...if someone is deleting my comments, um, why?? Saying so in case the original pops up later, in that case sorry)
Saw your comment in notifications about another comment vanishing, but couldn't find it! I haven't deleted anything and I don't think others can delete or hide comments, bit weird.
I haven't really cared for the actual apparel items i have gotten but the hosiery and other accessories like jewelry i have ordered have been really good.
I'm surprised you didn't get any baby stuff! I got Halloween rubber duckys. I got quite a few Halloween baby outfits. One says handsome little devil and has bat wings for sleeves
It's been proven in the coding in their firmware that they are phishing. It's not some people, it everyone who has the app downloaded and has made a purchase.
I got a few things from Temu and it went surprisingly well. I know it has its flaws, but for housing decor it's not terrible. Its mostly the morals that concern me.
I have that same black cross earring, the first jewelry item showed! I got it from Never Take it Off A brand that sells jewelers based on rock band artists and their songs It’s such a cute earring and I wear it a lot
Temu is so-so to me; like you've mentioned, be observant of the product page photos. I look for those left by reviewers for the best reference; there have been one or two things I changed my mind on getting because the review photos were totally different from the product page photos. My best purchase was a large set of knitting needles (the set cost the same as ONE pair in store). I think Amazon is a bit more reliable when it comes to clothing, but Temu is pretty good if you want cheap craft items.
I bought a pair of Halloween shoes I figured Id wear once to a Halloween part. They ended up being way to big and I figured it would be a hassle returning them, Temu gave me the money back said to keep or donate them. It was pretty hassle free.
The treasure chest,if you get anything a little weighty in it the plastic black part slides out of the faux “metal” part and everything spills. Imagine that when you use it for thousands of tiny beads….
I never trusted tell because of all the fake scams surrounding it promising false things. But ngl some of this seems really good and better than I expected, im obsessed with anything Gothic and this is giving ngl-
Temu doesn't ship to my country but I wanted an electric nail file from them that I heard good things about. I only ever see positive reviews from people in the US so it's nice to hear what others outside the US have to say about it. Love all your videos!
That's good to know :) My son has bought quite a bit from them and always been happy. I however, have been a bit leary of them as my son doesn't purchase things I would, so I haven't gotten anything from them. You have given me hope though, and I appreciate your honest review
not related to you, just a general observation: it's technically like shein, wish and aliexpress combined so I'm surprised that people pretended like it's something new and completely different, when it first popped up... love your videos tho
Ive heard mix results im curious myself Also according to another UA-camr i watch alot of Temu's tools are blatant rip offs/ Copyright infringement of name brand items
The bat pins/clips, in the States we call them clothes pins. But since I have a dryer for my clothes, i use clothes pins for snacks like bags of chips/crisps. But they are cute. Just be careful not to poke yourself with those wings.
I LOVE my home products like wet wipe caddies, kitchen tools, little gadgets n such. Being said I would never chance trying to buy clothes or expensive electronics from it.
It's 100% better than wish but not perfect. As you know, online you will be force fed links with copied, knock off items but the quality of most items i've ordered have been very good and i've ordered more of the tech' type items. Must admit to being impressed they are very good discount type homeware merchant.
I have the same planter, I have a snake plant that's been growing happily in it for years 👍 Just choose plans with low water consumption and don't overwater, unless you can drill some drainage holes in the bottom 💀
I have not shopped on Temu at all because of people who actually had their card details stolen or got sick because some of the metals have actually had lead exposure/high content. Plus as you said there are so many knock offs and you often take a gamble on quality and pricing. I also generally find the interface of websites like that to be quite overwhelming.
I bought the best hoodie ever from temu and I was beyond surprised by the quality, it's so much better than anything I've bought at a shop in New Zealand. The hoodie is well made, so thick and warm it's freaking amazing. I get a lot of art stuff from there too which has been pretty good, the only thing that was quite terrible was a dress. I was expecting that though because i have an odd shaped body that doesn't do well in bought dresses, I make most of mine so they fit properly. The dress i got from there was well made though, I will say that.
These do look not bad tbf. I used to buy a fair bit of stuff from Wish at one bit and that could definitely be very hit and miss. Most of the stuff was OK to good, some was brilliant and the rest was not even as described, but they were always really good about refunds for the sub-par stuff. I wonder how Temu rate on their refund policy?
I've brought one thing off Temu, I avoid all the "discounts" because it's all add this amount of people and get this for free or whatever. I brought flapping butterfly hair clips, like those ones in the late 90s early 2000's paid $4 something, free shipping and it got to me within a week or a week and a half which shocked me because we both know usually shipping from overseas to Nz takes forever! So I was very happy with my purchase, if they get broken they are easily replaced. If sold in a shop here they'd be $10
I did a Temu order too recently. I got a few blood bags too! I got a handful of different design purple straw toppers so dust & bugs don't get in your travel cups. Oh I need that key ring too next time. I still feel a little bad buying from them because sources are iffy about ethics, but I do support small shops when I can too. I got a mix of things, some organizing things, a few doll mini items. Everything was about worth it. I have hear the app is really bad about stealing data & tracing things it should not. I removed it, put it back on to do my order because it was the only way to use the 30% code I had & removed it again. I will order on my PC in the future.
PS here is my blog post which lists the brands and makers I saw copied: www.itsblackfriday.com/2023/10/temu-shit-or-legit.html

Nope I won't be it's not affecting me and besides who cares do you have any family members working for them if not shut up
I absolutely love your earrings!!
those blood bags with the clips, the re filler, and even the stickers are identical to the ones i bought at joanns fabric during Halloween for 3x the price.
U can use those bat clips at 12:25 to hang clothes outside, or tarps for camping etc
Not strong enough for tarps. Would be fine for closing chip/crisp bags and stuff like that.
I've got that heart vase in white and love it. Every decor item I've bought from them has been really kool.
i ordered 2 of those skull planters a couple of months ago for my bedroom and put plastic plants in them and i love them so much, i kinda wanna get more for my livingroom lol 🖤
You saying it's fine in disbelief over and over is cracking me up girl 😂🖤
I'm only part way through, but I've noticed one item that's clearly a rip off of someone i know on Etsy 😅 are we allowed to say who? Either way, it's interesting to see these things in real life and to get an honest review, thankyou for your refreshing honesty as always! Hoping you and the family are doing well 🖤
Im glad you showed me what the coffin selves look like because iv been wanting to get them myself
Your hair always looks fantastic
My mum is obsessed with Temu 😂
She likes buying me things and bought me a skirt which was made from some terrible nylon fabric and was a strange length.
The quality is crazy good. I’ve spend hundreds of dollars on that app and everything is really good.
I would love to see the jewelry box painted with the black!
I paid € 7,64 for it.
uwu...i hope the mirrors will still be available when i finally move out. those are super cool looking
Trying a purchase. Keeping my fingers crossed that I have the kind of luck you had.
I have the bone nails too! I have worn them several times and always get compliments!
i love temu! i've made so many orders! sadly that three piece gothic mirror set is not on Temu Canada. :(
These are spoons. You may have seen them around. That part cracked me up. Love it.
I haven't really cared for the actual apparel items i have gotten but the hosiery and other accessories like jewelry i have ordered have been really good.
I have gotten Temu make up. It's fine. Some of the eyeshadow pallets were smaller than I thought.
I'm surprised you didn't get any baby stuff! I got Halloween rubber duckys. I got quite a few Halloween baby outfits. One says handsome little devil and has bat wings for sleeves
I would love to see your perfume collection!!!
Some people have had their info stolen, and many believe it is TEMU
I haven't had issues
Lucky you but you should add "yet" to your staterment. @@danielledaniel1900
No issues here and been shopping with temu since before they got big
It's been proven in the coding in their firmware that they are phishing. It's not some people, it everyone who has the app downloaded and has made a purchase.
@@Laisper it's some people myself and other have had no problems thank you
I have the spoons and I love them. I have the heart vase in dark gold and it’s great too.
I'm always on Temu. I've ordered everything from there. Only disappointing I've ever had was bras. Everything else was great.
Omg absolutely loved this and seriously missed watching you 🖤🩶
I got a few things from Temu and it went surprisingly well. I know it has its flaws, but for housing decor it's not terrible. Its mostly the morals that concern me.
I have that same black cross earring, the first jewelry item showed!
I got it from Never Take it Off
A brand that sells jewelers based on rock band artists and their songs
It’s such a cute earring and I wear it a lot
"I'm going to paint the white bit black" - I can assure you, we all saw that coming!
The treasure chest,if you get anything a little weighty in it the plastic black part slides out of the faux “metal” part and everything spills. Imagine that when you use it for thousands of tiny beads….
Someone I met had their credit card info stolen more than once right after buying stuff from Temu. Coincidence? Maybe but I’m not taking the chance.
Doesn’t surprise me at all.
You could use a virtual card, some card companues offer that for online purchases.
I love temu I have been shopping with them since before they got big and everything I've gotten is great and have never had problems at all
Put orange and red flowers in the black heart shaped vase 🥰🥰
Tissue box was so cool!
I never trusted tell because of all the fake scams surrounding it promising false things. But ngl some of this seems really good and better than I expected, im obsessed with anything Gothic and this is giving ngl-
I always get so warm and fussy inside whenever I see one of your videos 🥰💖🖤🖤🖤
Ive heard mix results im curious myself
Also according to another UA-camr i watch alot of Temu's tools are blatant rip offs/ Copyright infringement of name brand items
The charm spot doesn't exist on my phone from what I can 18:56
The bat pins/clips, in the States we call them clothes pins.
I ordered some pins on there. Surprisingly good quality for being less than $1. My work vest looks super cool 😅
It's 100% better than wish but not perfect. As you know, online you will be force fed links with copied, knock off items but the quality of most items i've ordered have been very good and i've ordered more of the tech' type items. Must admit to being impressed they are very good discount type homeware merchant.
I've got the same make-up brushes.🖤
I have the same planter, I have a snake plant that's been growing happily in it for years 👍 Just choose plans with low water consumption and don't overwater, unless you can drill some drainage holes in the bottom 💀
I’m LOVING the red in the HAAIR
I have not shopped on Temu at all because of people who actually had their card details stolen or got sick because some of the metals have actually had lead exposure/high content. Plus as you said there are so many knock offs and you often take a gamble on quality and pricing. I also generally find the interface of websites like that to be quite overwhelming.
I love everything i have got from them too! especially for the price. thanks for this vid!
I have the same skull planter it's so adorable
As someone whose skin is super sensitive to most metals, im super curious if you ever did end up getting those metal jewelry pieces tested...?
I love those mirrors!
If sold in a shop here they'd be $10
new video idea: getting temu jewellery tested
I'm watching this now while eating my breakfast and the temu will add pops up right in the middle of it 😅
I was so surprised at how good the quality was. Even the printing of the wall curtain was very good. Never expected something like that.
I bought coffins IMMEDIATELY
