Little cement works. With one Presflo on each siding & a faux low relief shed on one of the tracks for the wagon to go into. I think that would work with the small space!
@@rich_rich90 Thanks Rich, I certainly think that an industrial layout is the way to go with this one. I see the buildings as being quite high to avoid a backscene. I might research glass factories to continue the bottle theme. Best Regards, Jason
Hi Jason, Happy New Year to you, interesting little project this one and looking forward to seeing how it develops. As a suggestion maybe a Dad’s Army theme? There are some really nice N gauge wagons you can get now from Buggleskelly Station with Jones the Butcher, W Hodges Greengrocer and Walmington on Sea Gas works wagons. I had some for Christmas and just thought when I saw your plan how they might suit this layout. Probably no where near what your thinking though, lol! Cheers for now Jason, John
@@exehavenharbour Hi John, Happy New Year to you. Dad’s Army is an interesting idea. I guess once the track’s laid it will all be easier for me to visualise. This one will evolve I think rather than get planned😉Best regards, Jason.
Well smart! I love making use of stuff like that. Will you be using more rare earth magnets to join the two sections? And great choice using the short Kato section as your joiner/power feed. Have you considered using a tiny PWM DC motor controller as your throttle? Can be had cheap on Amazon or eBay, and could easily be built into a little cover for the left side when the box is all packed up. Also, how about a dense urban loading dock siding for an overall theme? Looking forward to seeing this progress! Cheers!
@@pwnjrailroad Thank you. I had considered using the magnets to join the two components but given the very positive Kato click joints I may get away without. Though I’ve used the PWM controllers with great success on other layouts I’ll use the Kato controller with this one as it has the power pick-ups for the turnout switches. I’m leaning towards a little used, slightly overgrown siding behind a glass factory in my mind…….but this could always change!😉 Best regards, Jason.
Got to be a little vineyard or winery? Given your unfortunate choice of sporting team, perhaps a pun on Claret and Blue, or getting hammered would suit.....😅😅
Fair one....we're getting used to a pasting these days. Hopefully Mr Potter will sort it out. I've decided on an old glass factory as it's a bottle box. I'm now collecting all of the bits and pieces for a low relief scratch build.
Love this idea, can't wait to see part 2 and beyond. One question for you. Why are you turning the top so that it hides the second switch? I would think seeing both switches would make solving the puzzle easier if you can see all the trackage.
I've got to be honest, for me it's all about the build rather than running trains and I've never been one to really get into shunting puzzles. I guess this exercise is just to see if a shunting layout would work in such a tiny space. I suppose building so many exhibition layouts has conditioned me into always wanting to hide the fiddle yard and it's a tough habit to kick! Thanks for watching and hopefully part 2 won't disappoint! Best regards, Jason
What an excellent idea. I love micro layouts with a slightly novel container, so I shall look forward to seeing how this one develops.
Happy New Year mate, good to see you back 🎉🎉🎆🎆
Love your ideas and ingenuity 👍👍😊😊
Look good with a lot of wine barrels being loaded.
Love it, Matey! Always coming up with great ideas!

Long time no see such a good idea again, Jason 👌👍 - all the for 2025 !!!
So good to see you post! It has felt like AGES since I saw something of yours appear on my feed! 🙂
Ok, so you're not known for your non-UK modelling, but as you are working with a Champagne box, how about "Champlain Sidings" and making it Canadian?
@ Sorry I've been away from the channel for a while, a new puppy was responsible!!! Thanks for your support. Best regards, Jason
Fascinating concept!
Awesome work , recognise those points 👍
Thank you. Glad I spotted them on your stand😉
Another rippa on it's way!!!!

@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy3394 Ah, now, for a bottle factory you want Spurs..... 🤣🤣

What a letdown YUK
Sorry you didn't like this but it is only part 1....there's a long way to go yet. But thank you for giving it a try.
