@@jerrybow8779 wow. You're allowed to use throw nets in some places in Aus, but no way can you ever use a gill net. Having said that, if you threw one accross the Murray or one of it's tributaries and brought out 400000000 carp, no one is gonna complain.

We've been using European carp for snapper & shark now for a while. Easy to catch, stays on the hook & gets invasive species out of the systems
Have had luck with carp fishing for trevally too

@DefKiller90 yeah, but I know NZ takes protecting fisheries and sea life very seriously - as you should. Was surprised the gill nets are legal.
