Thank you for this very well made guide! It dumbs the system down a ton, which is something I needed really bad. Lol A lot of guides i’ve seen on this feature dive right in, and start talking about the “fails stacks” and I feel they don’t do a good job of easing into it. I learned a lot from your video! :)
finally someone who explained the minor details. so it becomes a huge gamble after a certain tier of enhancement, what would you say is the soft cap for higher tier gear? because it seems after a certain softcap the enhancements become a real nightmare percent chances
I'd say Tet for Tuvala season gear, (Which is what I recommend for all new players) or Tri for regular, non-Black Star gear. (Black Star is awful at every level, but it's the best endgame set, so warranted) We get enough Advice of Valks (+50-100 enhancement chance) from daily login, and events to get near 100% chance up to those levels for a few items every month. I have some alts that are being upgraded purely off of those scrolls in order to not use Cron Stones! Unfortunately, accessories are always going to be a gamble, just because you can't prevent them from downgrading if you fail. I've failed an 80% Tet accessory before that doesn't feel too great, but once you finally do get a set to Pen, you can rejoice because gear isn't soulbound in this game; you'll be able to trade it to all of your alts and be OP on everything!
This is a very popular model among Korean MMOs (Of which BDO is one) as a way to keep you playing instead of weekly lockouts, or limited currency like in Western MMOs. First MMO I played that had this system was a Korean MMO called Rappelz back in 2006; I actually ended up quitting it after rage-destroying my weapons trying to enhance them one day! XD
Best video of watched on the subject. Thanku very much

Glad it was helpful! I'm currently working on some other things, but I plan to do videos like this on a number of topics in BDO!
Great vid
