- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- The layers in a laser cut wood kit brings in all the fine details of a structure you can't get with styrene. Even though the process may be time consuming, the end result of all this detail is fantastic.
Join me on the Monday Night Live Stream to learn more about these laser cut wood kits, and who makes them!
If you are going to Amherst this month for the big show, don't forget to stop by Bar Mills Scale Model Works display and say hi to Arty. He will be displaying several diorama's of the kits available and some old limited edition ones that will be available again!

Those wood kits really do look more realistic
That't why I like them so much!
Looks cool, Ho Ho Ho Happy New Year Tom
Thanks Gerald! Happy new year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TOM !!.
Happy New Year Jeff!
Wood kits are the best I think, easy to get the real look of wood- just use wire brush to add grain- and kit bashing is easier too. Looks great Tom, nice work .
Thanks for the tips! Working on the next one already.
Wood kits are fun, but very tedious. But with a lot of patience and a sharp exacto knife you will make a beautiful building.
Happy New Year Tom, Debbie & Sadie.
Well worth the effort. Happy New Year!
Wood kits are great. That building is very detailed. You did an amazing job on it
Thanks a bunch!
Wood kits are a fun build. I have 3 of them on the Black Rock Central RR

I admire a man who models without his shoes on! They look fantastic Tom, who is the manufacture of Tylick Tools? I don't recognize it, but it kind of looks like a Foss kit.
Thank you so much. Tylick Tool is an older Bar Mills kit.

what scale are you working with
HO

Keep trying Frank! Maybe the Easter Bunny is your next hope!
I need to ask this about the future, with 3D printing, lazer cut processors and other developments in the modeling industry, what's do you think will happen to our modeling? Will it destory itself or grow better and bigger? Also these green new deals where we may have to cut back on our power usage or pay out the nose? I keep seeing so many power supplies hooked up to the layouts, so is there any way to Eliminate all these power supplies. I have seen like 10 to 20 different power supplies and this new government wants use to use less but I haven't seen anything to help us out. So why so many power supplies are needed to operate a layout?
The new technology is making it easier to model!
Where are you using all these power supplies? If there are components with different voltage requirements, you can get one supply of greater voltage and use buck converters to reduce the voltage to lesser voltage components.
