- House Republican leaders are slated to hold a press briefing Tuesday a day after Secret Service Director, Kimberly Cheatle, testified before the House Oversight Committee hearing.
The Secret Service has come under intense scrutiny following the failed assassination attempt on former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month. Many have called on Cheatle to step down in the wake of the incident, where a bullet grazed Trump's ear and killed a rallygoer.
It also comes in the wake of President Biden bowing out of the 2024 presidential race.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
