I have always had this conception that cinema cameras is something you need to have a pro level of experience and knowledge to use it , but this camera seems like a more easy to learn camera and more accustomed to youtubers looking for a higher quality cinema camera ( and it would be an even more ideal camera for youtubers if the price isn’t as expensive as more traditional cinema cameras )
@@whateverjustposting 8K$ is actually pretty fair given the price of DJI's gimbals + the price of more budget cinema cameras, especially if you take into account all the accessories it comes with + wireless + the 4th axis of stabilization which is really hard to get without breaking the bank. obv for prosumers/enthusiasts it's a hard sell but if ur making a living off of cinematic videos, it's not a bad play if you benefit from all the features

I wish josh had gotten to be the team member to do this video. Niles is awesome and clearly knows his stuff but josh is a professional DP and almost more importantly camera assistant. He builds cinema camera rigs regularly and I really want to hear a focus pullers opinion about the external FIZ hand unit they are releasing with the camera.

I like the vibe of it and no question your footage looks good, but having experienced a 50% failure rate with the 4 DJI Gimbals I've had in the last 2 years, I would want to know there's no gremlins before getting one. FWIW, DJI replaced the gimbals both times, so at least the after sales service was good. Cheers for the video.
For the price you can grab a bmpcc 6k pro, sigma 18-35 and ronin s. DJI lens isn't something I see being on par with the other companies. Focus breathing is more of a jerking than breathing. Will be interesting to see actual reviews.
Do you know if with the DJI Zenmuse X9 E-Mount Unit could l use the sony 50mm 1.4f zeiss lens with 780g, ? I am not sure but the with sony 24 mm 1.4 GM lens is posibble ,so l am not sure ,
The cameras sick. I'm just waiting for that one thing that disappoints people. There is no way that version 1 is a home run. But if it is, it just obsoleted a lot of cameras and this is going to be sold out till 2022 I'm sure.
@@truthseeker6804 Just like you said, most gimbals don't support big lens, so its not a fault. But you got to give it credit for implementing auto focus on smaller prime cine glass. I hope they, or someone else, makes a m43 version of this that can utilize the smaller m43 zoom lens.
The DJI Ronin 4D is really cool. However, DJI's design engineers should consider the same concept to be applicable to TV productions especially TV dramas, TV news shoots and stage shows. For that news, the cameraman must also be carried on his shoulders because he has to hold the camera for a long time all the time. and sometimes have to raise the camera at a high angle above the head Because they want to avoid the look of journalists together. Camera shooting needed to be able to put the camera on the shoulder and raise the camera higher. I hope this comment gets some attention and builds on it so that we can actually use it.
Funny that he mentioned how good the auto tracking was exactly when it didn't work. To be expected, and it looks like it works great almost all the time. What a sick rig! How much extra is the wireless monitor setup, and I wonder how much an EXTRA set of handles costs, since no one wants to shoot without the handles while a director/focus puller is using the wireless monitor to control focus, etc. This could get to $10k really fast...
the extra wireless monitor plus its transmitter is $2k, then lenses are about 1K+, the handles come included by default. so basically youre right $10k. still not a bad deal.
Ofcourse DJI is the best in stability and am a fan too. But, what is a Cinema Camera ? A cinema camera is not about stability or autofocus/any other extra features. Yes features are a plus but features aren't the only thing. It's about the sensor, dynamic range and various lens options. Companies like Arri, Red are the best reference for a "Professional Cinema Camera". After all, this DJI thing is just a mirror less camera with features for a cinema camera.
It's a 6K or 8K full frame 35mm sensor with 14+ stops of dynamic range and built in ND filters. Pretty freakin good. This think has features not built into cameras that are twice the price.

the dissapointment is..... you cant use big lenses. most gimbals don't support big lenses anyway. so im not sure thats really a disappointment.
