That's probably not a coincidence. Hope is a big part of Yoda as a character. He shows up to fight battles that others couldn't hope to win in his place. He's eventually defeated, gets forced into hiding and waits years for a student who he can teach and pass the torch to. He shows Luke his potential and the path he must walk to reach it, but ultimately Luke must take that journey alone. Yoda both possesses and gives great hope to the other characters.
This was excellent thanks! My whole life since 1980 (I was 5 years old) the theme when Yoda pulls Lukes X-Wing out of the swamp and the whole orchestra swells has given me goose bumps. It never fails.
14:35 is my personal favorite. Sweet yet somber. A fitting conclusion for yoda Also one of the saddest lines imo played at this moment: “Unfortunate that you rushed to face him…That incomplete was your training…That…not ready for the burden were you…”
What I liked is that while each has the same elements retained, each composer tries to add in other musical parts build from the simple melody. You can tell differences in each cue but also still feels familiar at the same time.
John Williams is still alive as of my posting this comment, but I am aware that he is 92 and nobody lives forever. The day he does actually die will be THE saddest moment in American history after 9/11.
Yoda's theme seems like the most hopeful SW theme

This, the emperors theme, and the imperial march are my absolute favorite themes. Too bad yodas theme wasnt used much in the prequels 😢
The action-y remake in AOTC was incredible though.
@@VinVonVoom a perfect example of why John Williams is the master of music!
When it was it was amazing tho
I think it's because we don't have much scene of yoda teaching alone in the prequels
"We are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters."
It's a great line from a bad film. In my opinion at least
2:30 probably my favorite version of Yoda's theme. Captured the spirit and feeling of the OT perfectly in my opinion.

It gave me chills every time i rewatch that scene i liked it being seeing again in rise of skywalker

Beautiful, this theme is.
The greatest teacher, failure is
I do love the Yoda cameo in TLJ, it made so much sense for him to be there
13:40 That part is literally Rey's theme 32 years before it was written, wow

We need yoda in our lives to guide us as he guided luke
There was a new variant of the theme on The Mandalorian. From the episode "The Jedi"😁
It appears earlier in the clone wars too. It plays when yoda is talking about the force to the clones
Yep. Unfortunately, that cue has not been released.
there's another Skywalker ...
"That,is why you fail"

My ally is the force and a powerful ally it is.
Thank you to the late John Williams

2:03 That's a piece of Ahsoka's theme!
Something similar happens earlier in the film when Obi-Wan is asking Anakin to spy on the Chancellor.
Missed the version in "Lando's Palace".
I think there was one right after Luke's vision in the cave too.
and City in the Clouds
"Yoda Explores Dagobah" TCW and another iteration in "Yoda's Journey Ends"
Also "Luke Pursues the Captives" in ESB and "Yoda to Exile" in ROTS
You forgot both times in TROS: Luke lifting the X wing, and the Celebration
The X-Wing lifting scene I left out because it's a reuse of music from Empire just rerecorded. Didn't realize it was in the Celebration at the end.
Just double-checked both scenes and they're both reuses from Empire. JW re-used a lot of music from the saga in TROS.
@@RedRiotGamez Thanks! MTFBWY!

some of the few music clips that you are missing.
missed the one in et😏
I guess it's an option. Doesn't really fit into the timeline though.

The voice by Frank Oz is way too much better than Thomas Kane’s. Right?
Generally speaking, I would agree. However, Kane's Yoda in Robot Chicken...
@@StarWarsOpinion"Just some dude it was!"
@@StarWarsOpinion I miss Tom Kane. I hope he is doing well. It sucks a stroke took his wonderful voice away. Rest now, he must.
