1:31:33. WHAT MAKES ME GO CRAZY AT THIS PART IS THAT THIS IS LITERALLY THE FORMATION AIGIS WAS IN IN THE INTRO OF THE GAME WITH ALL THE TAROT CARDS ON THE GROUD
Few examples of foreshadowing: “Enter the dark hour and seal your fate” Junpei’s 1st link episode “it’s your funeral, buddy!” Yukari telling the mc after he slept for a week that she was worried he wouldn’t wake up.
And the last piece of foreshadowing: all physical skills have a % HP cost, and spells almost always have an SP cost associated with them. Armageddon depletes HP and SP to 1 point each (but hey, it’s still something! Just Diarhan + Precious egg ya boi and he’ll be fine) Great Seal’s cost: 100% of MC’s max HP. Not 99%, not 99.99%, 100% Every single time. 97 hours of peak.

Aigis grew on me and became my favorite character from the game. Her innocence made me love her as a character and great development throughout the story
It really is one of the most beautiful ends to a video game. I know both he and Aigis were the only two that remembered. But I don't know if he knew he was dying or not. His inner dialog didn't seem to think so, because he would only mention how tired he was. When all of his HP was drained on that final attack on Nyx it's like he should have died there, but his will pulled him to survive to get to graduation day. But Aigis definitely knew he was dying, and was protecting him all the way to the end relaxing him and talking to him like he wasn't fading away. And the last thing he saw was his protector watching over him. You really knew that she knew he was dying in the last scene after the credits rolled. She looked at the group and smiled a little, but looked somber looking back down at him. Her hand had moved from his and was holding his shoulder. She resolved herself to his death before they came to the roof. She knew he was gone, and knew it was coming. I think she knew when she showed up at his door, which was why she suggested skipping the ceremony and heading straight for the roof to experience the beautiful day. She didn't want to waste a second of what he had left on anything other than relaxing and being peaceful. It was the first time she protected him in a very human way, and not as a weapon.
Makoto proved takaya wrong he wasn't fighting shadows and destroying tartarus for self satisfaction. Takaya states to makoto at the shrine "giving up your own life to save others is simply a waste" what banger foreshadowing by the guy meant to mirror the protagonist he's the complete opposite of makoto selfish accepting the end of all getting other people to believe the same things he does hes the false savior compared to makoto who truly was the messiah who gave everyone a second chance sealing off death. Thanotos found the answer to life despite only knowing death as the god of it whereas hypnos as the god of sleep remained in his dreams and delusions and didnt change. Takaya was heavilly improved in reload he was bland in p3 now he has substance to him and him contrasting makoto made makoto's sacrifice hit even more i love reload made my favourite game even better.
It's crazy how just adding those scenes with Takaya instantly makes him a better character and makes his part in the narrative way stronger. It's wild that Takaya and Makoto basically never interacted before Reload lmao
As a greek mythology nerd and having played Hades, when I saw the name Thanatos, I was like “wait, I’ve heard that name before, where is it from?” And then piecing together the lore between the connection of Thanatos and Nyx, and reading his description of Hypnos being his brother after fusing my own Thanatos I was like “yo that’s so cool, I wonder if I could fuse Hypnos?” I got to the Takaya fight 3 hours ago, and he casted his Theugy and called out his Persona’s name for the first time: Hypnos. My mind was blown and my jaw dropped to the floor. THE THEMATIC PARALLELS ARE PEAK.
I just realized that Aigis’s dialogue is what happened with Makoto as well. He found the reason to live. He found someone to protect. His friends. At the end he leaves, but I don’t think he had any regrets. He was peaceful and happy. He grew so much 😢
I heard someone say that Aigis is the canon romance and it makes a lot of sense. Her and Makoto's journeys are nearly identical, Aigis just puts hers into words while Yuki let his actions speak for him.
The ending really got me man. 😢 I was told that this Persona game had the best story, so I started playing Persona 3 Reload blind with a journal instead of simply following a online guide, which made my playthrough of this game such an unique experience for me personally.
I beat Persona 3 Portable about a year or two ago, and the ending definitely made me tear up. But when I beat this yesterday myself, I don't think I've ever cried so hard at a piece of fiction in my life. Not at Berserk, not a Hunter x Hunter, not at any of the Xenoblade games, nothing. The way the end of Persona 3 Reload is presented needs to be studied.
1 thing you missed, on the last day before graduation, i fyou to the flowershop she tells you sakura flowers mean dont ever forget me. hinting thats the end of you journey but the others will continue on
It not over as the answer dlc is coming 🥹 also p3 protag stronger than all persona protags 😈. I love how this is one of the few games where the power of friendship is well executed.
It won't be released till next year at the earliest so its over for now and no he's not the strongest he was awarded with the universe arcana due to his sacrifice not because he's stronger.
I played the og Persona 3 back in 2010, and since then it became and continues to be my favorite game of all time. It's such an incredible game... And I love P4 and 5 as well, but it doesn't compare. Only game i can think that can come a bit close for me is Final fantasy 9
Shits why I almost can't stand watching playthroughs by mid to high traffic streamers, non-stop barrage of "lawlsorandom" alerts and constant need to pander for chat prevents ruins immersion for them, and I swear people time that shit.
Completed it today and broke me so much. As for social link epilogues I loved Maya's and Kamiki's. First one perfectly showed the duality of the character, Kamiki was just another heartbreak to the collection (and my favourite non-playable character SL in the game I think).
I cried so much man. I love this game more than P5R, also, HE DIES???? I HONESTLY DID NOT NOTICE THAT WHEN I PLAYED??? I THOUGHT HE JUST WENT TO SLEEP??? 😓😥😓😭
Yeah, the "Great Seal" move during the last phase of the Nyx fight taking all of his HP was meant to allude to that. There were some other signs, but that was the main one.

Wow my thought process was lost at the time because I played from like 12am-6am and I was like wait is makoto dead not really thinking much about it until now. Rewatching this ending made me want to cry, I did not truly realized how deep this scene is.

Yea now wait til you go play innocent sin Also there's nothing wrong with upbeat endings. Eternal punishment ends on a very positive note with a very positive message and id argue it's still sadder than P3 as a whole nonetheless.
GUESS FKING WHAT? It's the same as the original, that's why a big part of the persona community pays their respect to Makoto death anniversary. This game broke more people than you could imagine.
If you think too everyone in SEES had someone they cared deeply about taken from them in one way or another except aigis and who did she care for the most? Makoto. She began to truly become human and the last thing she needed to be fully human was the pain and grief of the death of a loved one.
2:53:43 when the last attack on nix used all of makoto's HP (1:28:33) i knew it was joever, but i didn't want to believe it until the part when he closes his eyes... this game is so well done man i played it blind, completed it 2 days ago and i'm still mourning 😭
The ending is Peak. Truely. Edit: P4G and P5R might be better in some stuff but Persona 3 Ending is goated. Fes saved me from depression back then lol. Ngl. Reload really foreshadowed Makoto's death here. They leaned to it too hard. I love that they did that though. Foreshadowing: they always tell you "we'll do it next year too!" "We'll meet again right? I can feel it!" "We'll be going to the mountains!" "We'll go biking!" Those stuff. And you always pick "Yes" 😂 knowing what happens in March 5th.
This ending and really story in general, absolutely kills my emotions everytime i watch the cutscene and yet its not even the absolute peak of the series story wise(personally p3 is a close second to p2). Thats how peak Persona and SMT is fr😢
I just noticed, at the start of the game the menu title shows makoto with all the s.e.e.s. members in their homeroom. Once the game is finished, the homeroom becomes empty with just the s.e.e.s. armband and the evoker on yukari's desk. Just a little detail thats hard to miss. Actually hits hard when you chose yukari as the one you want to romance with
Well 3R was my first persona game. I started playing it like a week after it came out. And now I've beaten the game, I've beaten P4G, I'm 30 into hours into P5R, 20 hours into SMTvV, 10 into nocturne and 10 into P3P femc. Needless to say P3R completely changed my life and how i spend it this year.
I finished the game last night for the first time. There was so many times throughout my playthrough where i cried, but there was no point where i cried harder then those last two days especially when i had to accept that makoto was dying. Then after the credits after that last scene and closing the game i open twitter to see akira toriyamas death, i started bawling again especially because of what p3r meant with death
2:53:53 I’ve never played this game before and I picked up on it which is why I think it hit so hard. I lowkey felt makoto wasn’t making it yet I wanted him to so bad
As someone who never got into the original versions, i was affraid that i might not be into this game... Oh BOY was i wrong! I still like P5R more overall, but this was my best experience with a game in a LONG time!
2:50:26 My exact reaction when i finished the vanilla PS2 version for the first time! (also the same reaction I had every time I finished every other version after that)

死は誰にでも平等に訪れる。だからこそその運命に向き合い、精一杯生きること、そして自分の生きた意味を見つけることこそが命の答え
I beat Persona 3 Portable about a year or two ago, and the ending definitely made me tear up. But when I beat this yesterday myself, I don't think I've ever cried so hard at a piece of fiction in my life. Not at Berserk, not a Hunter x Hunter, not at any of the Xenoblade games, nothing. The way the end of Persona 3 Reload is presented needs to be studied.
Its the music man
1 thing you missed, on the last day before graduation, i fyou to the flowershop she tells you sakura flowers mean dont ever forget me. hinting thats the end of you journey but the others will continue on
It not over as the answer dlc is coming 🥹 also p3 protag stronger than all persona protags 😈. I love how this is one of the few games where the power of friendship is well executed.
It won't be released till next year at the earliest so its over for now and no he's not the strongest he was awarded with the universe arcana due to his sacrifice not because he's stronger.
@@jackjohnson8305 dude, Makoto Yuuki can cast Armageddon and 1 hit Joker and Yu
@@Agravain-7 Thats just in gameplay, don't confuse it with real lore.
@@jackjohnson8305 that gameplay is the lore
@@Agravain-7 Game mechanics are not lore.
Worth every minute of the wait for this remake since the original.
Every Persona games has gravitas but man... this one is special.
Nothing much to say besides Greatness personified, thank you for an amazing play through and sharing your experience with us
I played the og Persona 3 back in 2010, and since then it became and continues to be my favorite game of all time. It's such an incredible game... And I love P4 and 5 as well, but it doesn't compare. Only game i can think that can come a bit close for me is Final fantasy 9
Just so you know, the text message from unknown sender is implied to be Ryoji because he looked at the music box just before he got the message.
Now way that mofo ruined the immersion with that subscription alert
you mad somone watched the game in english grow up kid
@@gamerbeast3616 by SUB I meant the alert he got in the middle of the saddest cutscene when the person SUBSCRIBED
Shits why I almost can't stand watching playthroughs by mid to high traffic streamers, non-stop barrage of "lawlsorandom" alerts and constant need to pander for chat prevents ruins immersion for them, and I swear people time that shit.
Just finished it like an hour ago, i knew this game was peak but this is outrageous!
Persona 3 Reload is my 1st persona, W experience, one of my favorite games, i might even replay for 100% on the achievements
boy you're gonna love persona 4 golden and persona 5 royal. All 3 modern persona games are goated
Persona 3 protagonist is the John wick of persona, through sheer force of fucking will, he made it to graduation 🫡
With a pencil...with a fucking...pencil...
With a fake gun… with a fucking… fake gun…
2:37:54 I believe the message is from Ryoji
@@Tubular_dude_20y_ago Yeah now i just realized it, fuck, this game made me cry so hard. I use to think P5R was the best persona game but now after playing relod, this is officially #1 for me.
He kept himself alive to keep the promise they all made to meet each other again
@@PicaroAnimations Atlus learned a lesson after this game, don’t kill off your main protags die, or else you won’t be able to make spin off games 😂😂😂😂 sadly this is most likely true so we’ll never get a gritty p6 filled with death again
@@mkloven101they actually did, technically two. P3 dancing in moonlight and pq and pq2 that was the crossover games. They just made it so they took place before his death
I had the game on gamepass for 2 weeks only, and i just finished it staying up before my gamepass expired. Wow my thought process was lost at the time because I played from like 12am-6am and I was like wait is makoto dead not really thinking much about it until now. Rewatching this ending made me want to cry, I did not truly realized how deep this scene is.
Goddamn this game is so good.
I heard someone say that Aigis is the canon romance and it makes a lot of sense. Her and Makoto's journeys are nearly identical, Aigis just puts hers into words while Yuki let his actions speak for him.
PEAK GAME, TEARS WERE SHED 🔥🔥🔥
Omega staring into our soul every time the pain hits 💀
If the Persona 2 duology gets remade... God help everyone that was broken by Persona 3's ending.
just finished the game and wow... man... compared to 4 and 5 upbeat perfect endings this was ROUGH............................. im crying.....................
Yea now wait til you go play innocent sin
Also there's nothing wrong with upbeat endings.
The Answer was announced! Waiting for a happy September! ❤🎉
2:05:43 calling for Kurosawa is diabolical work 😂😂😂
Takaya basically went band for band in Theurgy and Lost to Armageddon 😂😂😂
“That girl.” Hit me like a brick, I was frozen for a good minute.
and now people finally knew why P3 is regarded this highly which led to P4 & P5
If you think too everyone in SEES had someone they cared deeply about taken from them in one way or another except aigis and who did she care for the most? Makoto. She began to truly become human and the last thing she needed to be fully human was the pain and grief of the death of a loved one.
Love this game but maybe a unpopular opinion but I wish there was a sort of Strega dlc but I imagine it would be hard to make thet happen
2nd game of 2024 to make me cry like a baby.
2:53:43 when the last attack on nix used all of makoto's HP (1:28:33) i knew it was joever, but i didn't want to believe it until the part when he closes his eyes... this game is so well done man i played it blind, completed it 2 days ago and i'm still mourning 😭
My new favorite game oat.
Crying in the club rn
The ending is Peak. Truely.
Edit: P4G and P5R might be better in some stuff but Persona 3 Ending is goated. Fes saved me from depression back then lol. Ngl.
Reload really foreshadowed Makoto's death here. They leaned to it too hard. I love that they did that though.
Foreshadowing: they always tell you "we'll do it next year too!" "We'll meet again right? I can feel it!" "We'll be going to the mountains!" "We'll go biking!" Those stuff. And you always pick "Yes" 😂 knowing what happens in March 5th.
I love how Igor says the "power of the universe" dude became a god, then gave it away to save his friends.
the hood lost a real one
I still can’t tell if I’m crying cause I’m sad or I’m crying cause it’s a great ending
This ending and really story in general, absolutely kills my emotions everytime i watch the cutscene and yet its not even the absolute peak of the series story wise(personally p3 is a close second to p2). Thats how peak Persona and SMT is fr😢
Ah damn, I was hoping things will be different
This game is so goated…
Just finished this yesterday & watching this ending again I’m not crying there something in my eyes 😭
PEAK 🗣️🗣️🗣️🙏🙏🙏
I finished the game last night for the first time.
There was so many times throughout my playthrough where i cried, but there was no point where i cried harder then those last two days especially when i had to accept that makoto was dying. Then after the credits after that last scene and closing the game i open twitter to see akira toriyamas death, i started bawling again especially because of what p3r meant with death
This is cinema 🧎
2:53:53 I’ve never played this game before and I picked up on it which is why I think it hit so hard. I lowkey felt makoto wasn’t making it yet I wanted him to so bad
i have such a love-hate relationship with this game because of my various issues regarding other aspects of it, but damn man...they got me 😭
bro i finished this game, i spen the entire finale crying and the hole credits too
Watching this on march 5th hits different
If you are the one dubbing, I will sit and cry, my friend. (Hello from Turkey 🇹🇷)
When he realizes it is VERY much not the end
6 months late but BRO i played this 5 times how am i crying everytime i see it
As someone who never got into the original versions, i was affraid that i might not be into this game...
Oh BOY was i wrong! I still like P5R more overall, but this was my best experience with a game in a LONG time!
We all have been ended by the ending
Finally beat this game and wow just wow they cooked!!!!
I played FES not too long before reload came out(October I think) I just finished reload last night and I somehow cried even more?
Bro still can’t rest even die 💀
What an inspiring game.
Genuinely the greatest ending I have ever experienced in a video-game
first game ever that made me cry
this what happen when my first play through P3 FES
Interesting to note B Team is fighting off a hoard of shadows with no Navigator to show them whatthe enemies are weak to
One more person understand what arcana is.
Just beat it and dam bro . He knew he was going to pass away soon got me bad at the end😢
The beginning is okay but the end is god tier storytelling which make the game the greatest JRPG of all time.
Now, we only gotta wait for the answer dlc so we will get the final conclusion of persona 3
2:50:26 My exact reaction when i finished the vanilla PS2 version for the first time! (also the same reaction I had every time I finished every other version after that)
In Kyoto Yuko tells her boyfriend what's bothering her elaborates and doesn't leave makes her in the top 5 for me
