The Raspberry Zingers were my mom's favorite snack cake. They were much better in my opinion when they were made by Dolly Madison.

The original Raspberry Zingers were made by Dolly Madison Bakery. My husband loved them. I liked the Chocolate filled cream Zingers. Hostess is no good anymore they changed the Zinger recipe. Also the shrunk the size of the snack cakes too.
I used to love Zingers & Snoballs. Haven't had either in years so I can't say if they've changed from what I remember. Usually anything with coconut I love which is why the above mentioned products were so appealing.

Twinkies are made with sponge cake, Zingers are made with regular cake. Ever since Hostess sold to whatever company a long time ago, all their cakes do not taste like they use to when the original owners made them. I stopped buying Hostess about 2 months after they sold out. I could tell the difference right away.
They started adding tons of preservatives and stabilizers to make the products have a much longer shelf life and it ruined all of their products. I havent bought Hostess for years either. Its all garbage.
They just aren’t worth buying.
One thing is for sure, hostess definitely shrunk them!

I agree with that. None of the hostess cakes good anymore and there is very little cream in them
ZingerDingers weigh (164 grams) both cakes combined......"HALF" the weight of the pack of Zingers weigh (171 grams).....These scammers are literally trying to get you to pay "MORE THAN" double the price for the same product! Change the shape, and trick the customer out of more than twice as much money - what nerve! lol (And I've always liked Zingers! lol I'll definitely stick the three Zingers. (They might want people to fall in love with new product so they can discontinue the less expensive Zingers, I wouldn't be surprised).

We make hominy (I prefer to use frozen over the canned) with pork stew meat and chile (most commonly with red). It's known as Posole here in New Mexico!

Do hostess not make the regular Zingers with the harden frosting on top anymore ?
They do. The Vanilla and Chocolate Zingers both have the hardened frosting on top. Here in Milwaukee, WI our Kroger-owned Pick N Save and Metro Markets usually have them. Walmart has them but it's not every Walmart here. Meijer mostly has the Vanilla but our Woodman's stores have all the Hostess, Little Debbie and Mrs. Freshley's products.

When I was a kid, Hostess products were amazing. Now they are crap !!! I wouldn't eat them even if I was starving ,LOL !!!!

I like the Chocolate Zingers a lot! They have the chocolate cake, a chocolate frosted top, and vanilla creme inside (sort of like Hostess Cupcakes, but in the Zinger shape. Kevin might think the cake is too dark chocolate, though. The raspberry one doesn't look as good. I never have been a big Twinkies person, but since they changed how they are, even less so. They are different, to me, than Zingers, though I could see why you would say that.

The Raspberry Zingers has been one of my Mom and I's favorite snack cakes since it's Dolly Madison days. Even after Hostess bought out Dolly Madison, they were still good. Then Hostess filed for bankruptcy. And whatever company bought them up doesn't seem to know what they're doing. They can make cupcakes but couldn't get the Suzy Q's right. And the Raspberry Zingers cake were like rubber. And the raspberry flavor was gone. Against my better judgement, I bought the Zinger-Dingers. It was worse than the regular Zingers. My first one had no cream in it and was just rubbery, pasty and just all around gross. My Mom tried one and threw half of it away. I tried one more time and threw half away as well as the rest of the box. I buy the Mrs. Freshley's take on the Zinger-their Raspberry Dreamies. Not great but 100 times better than the Hostess. All the Hostess products have not been the same since the bankruptcy. I do like the Caramel Melt-A-Mors and the white powdered sugar Donnettes. Maybe an occasional Twinkie, but I hate myself after eating them. I wish they would bring back the Key Lime Twinkies from 2016, but they would probably screw them up.

They absolutely ruined Suzy Qs! In the 70s, when I first had one, I loved it. It was a rare treat (I wasn't allowed to have a lot of "junk" as a kid). But I had one a couple years ago, and it was not at all the same.

If hostess wanted to do a mashup, the cake should've still been chocolate with maybe a raspberry icing and then coconut on top
I just like the raspberry zinger it was so good it was a good snack cake though but i have the raspberry hostress cake it's okay but raspberry Zinger don't have enough cream in it but I really do like the cream it is tastes really good and the coconut shell with the cake filling it was just so good it's all right but it just still good.

I honestly don’t get the appeal especially with no raspberry in these.
Hostess has changed. They aren’t as good as they used to be. I don’t know if it’s because they are being made by a different company. I like lemon hostess cupcakes, but I am not a fan of the other snacks that I used to like.

I never tried raspberry zingers as a kid since they had coconut.
I don't even think I've had zingers in general, actually, but my mom bought the "diet" Weight Watchers ones..
They WERE good, not gonna lie... I ate my fair share of those 🤣

I think the reason Kevin might have liked them before it's because some years back another company bought Hostess and everything tastes different to me just not as good as they were

You must have gotten a bad batch of zingers because they’re normally very very soft and not spongy like Twinkies and very full of raspberry flavor! I feel like the individual packages are always different from getting them in the big box!
Maybe the box helps keep the flavor and texture.
I hope I'm not one of those dreaded super tasters that you all are always talking about because I get plenty of raspberry flavor from these things albeit artificial LOL. I hope they try the chocolate zingers this way. I think the chocolate zinger dingers would be even better!

ZingerDingers is hilarious! Kevin cracked me up at the beginning. I grew up eating chocolate Zingers and loved them. Now, I question that. It had that hard chocolate topping. These would be a pass for me. Thanks for a fun review.
