- Held in the summer forests north of the Arctic Circle, Ex Northern Forest was a joint exercise between UK, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Estonian, Latvian and US troops. It tested interoperability and tactics for the various forces, whilst also providing a completely different training environment from that of Salisbury Plain back in the UK.
Never has our relationship with our NATO allies been more important, and this was an excellent exercise to build and improve our relationships across the militaries of NATO nations.

Still using the SA80, whilst the USA military has astronomical amounts of data and 1st hand experience on other weapon systems. The UK could easily utilise this knowledge and purchase new kit. But no, the government would rather spend it housing illegal migrants.
The other two are carrying a rainbow flag on the pride parade.

@@chrisbacon3071 I was in the Jock guards mate and when we used the warrior we had them with 50cals GPMGs and 40mm grenade launchers

If they work reliably(I really don't know if UKs rifles do or do not) they may have advantage against conventional rifles. In full scale war there will be fights in trenches and urban environment where compact rifle with full length barrel has its benefits.

The UK government will only start to care when it’s too late. They did the same after in past wars but only difference is it takes months/years to make equipment this time.

To think at the start of the Ukraine war Ukraine had a bigger army than the whole of nato combined. Now 400,000 are dead with no win in sight against Russia. The British Army would probably last a week in a full on conflict. You can have all the high tech gear. It counts for nothing when it’s that small and depleted. The rest of NATO is no different. And all the war stocks of munitions have been used up on Russia.
