A cool thing that this explanation doesn't cover is the fact that they also made the MV into a giant FU: - You claim we always use green screen? We'll show you green screen. - Suga is too pale? Snow White shirt it is. - You think J-Hope is lanky? Bugs bunny shirt for him. - You don't like Jin's knees? Let's show them off. They literally stuffed this MV with things they've been criticised for, like very specific glasses, shirts, hairstyles, filters,....you name it. It's pure *chef's kiss* genius. 😂👍 💜

wow, rewatching this explanation again with you many years later makes me appreciate it even more in light of this year's events - i'm talking specifically about namjoon's rpwp album and how even though it did appear on many lists with top albums of the year, it was placed rather low (88th place is crazy, it's objectively so low for this banger of an album), while winning some kpop category awards even though it doesn't have any relation to kpop whatsoever except for the nationality of the singer. not even that in fact, because each year there are more and more kpop groups with multiple international members so it's really just a jenre now, and yet bts members individually are still looked upon as 'kpop' first so all their music is judged as kpop, and while they win in this category most of the time, they really should be placed with artists of the same jenres now, like pop, hip hop, indie, whatever... because why is it always american/british/sometimes spanish artists that feature in just 'artist' cagegories, but bts are always kpop just because they're korean? anyway, i really like your genuine reactions, keep it up

The idol industry in SK markets idols as always single and encourages fans to develop parasocial relationships so it became a controversy for numerous reasons. Such as thinking they were dating girls and also worrying that they were bringing girls into their shared dorm while JK was still a minor. A lot of the international fandom responded with “Do you want us to be mad that they’re having safe s*x or that they have big d*cks?” and it eventually blew over. Controversies like this can end a South Korean idol’s career.
I’m glad to see you watching the explanation. It’s been fun watching you not only fall in love with BTS but with music in general. They get so much more impressive the deeper you dig. They’re brilliant artists.

Also since you mentioned it, Anpanman is a reference to their song Anpanman, which is about BTS being a different kind of superhero for people. I recommend watching a live with lyrics and then an explanation video for that!

The explanation was that it was a "gift" from a fan. Some fans know no boundaries so i d o believe that it is likely true.
