Something similar happened to me. I lost a bunch but I realized a lot of plants are extremely cold hardy. It was a good lesson to keep my babies indoors during the winter.
Glad you didn't lose everything. That could have been a disaster.
Yeah we’re grateful we kept a lot of the plants that meant the most to us
That sucks but I hope it's a comfort that you're doing important work!
Thank you for the kind words!
One 9f the reasons why an add on to the house would be preferable to a freestanding greenhouse. Have seen where they used freestanding trombe walls pre cheap glass production. The ambient heat assisted earlier production of high value foods, etc.
Could add a cob wall and a rocket mass heater (or something similar/cheaper) as backup...
An attached greenhouse provides efficiency benefits but can lead to insurance complications because it’s part of the home. Moreover, since my farm doesn’t have any other buildings yet, this option isn’t practical. Now that the heater is properly installed, I’ve achieved excellent temperature regulation.
thats a damn hard knock Continue your hopes for future 👍🏼☮🇺🇸
Thanks for the kind words!
My mother fig plant died however I took two cutting over a year ago that are thriving. My only concern is when they get a fig on them they disappear. I'm not sure if it's birds, squirrels or people. Any hel
