Wow. I literally just dropped off my paperwork for a tie-down spot at Ramona and I will be moving my plane up there next month. I'm a newer pilot so this video, would you released yesterday, is perfectly timed. Love the no-nonsense approach to these videos, straight up information, and just a great resource for all the various airports we're at or maybe going to. So thank you for this. Cheers
Good videos. I ask that you spend some time discussing local helicopter procedures, so that both planes and helicopters have a better undestanding of each others operations, especially since most helicopter noise abatement procedures are not published and difficult to find.
Yea, the Chino airport is so complicated. They decided to give me a way more complicated instruction crossing runways in a different location. I asked for progressive taxi instructions to to be sure I did not mess up. Always better to sound like a fool then to cause a runway incursion or possible runway incursion. The taxi can be difficult at times.
Hiking is good in the fall through the spring. Summer is hot. Winter time is redflag fire season due the high wind and dry condition, not the heat. There is a reason the firebase is located here :) The low rolling hills are very similar to the eastern USA instead of the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada, or the Rockies, but it is mostly dry desert, with chaparrals, and oaks. Most of the land near the highways are private properties so you need to rent a car to get to the trailheads. It's a long distance to cover on bicycles. There are great diners along the highways that caters to the weekend sport cars and motorcycle rallies. You can try the world famous apple pies in the town of Julian a few miles to the east. There are numerous wineries if wine tasting is your thing.

Planning my X-country to this airport but wow, looks like a nice area to live and also to go hiking. How is the food?
