We are aware of the audio issues. We have a clip on mic but it wasn’t working unfortunately. This was our first live test so we’ll be sure to address it next time. Feel free to continue whining and crying in the comments. 😂
"Feel free to continue whining and crying in the comments. 😂" Invitation accepted! I Love Microphone: Ricky, 'No Microphone you can't be in the show.' Microphone, 'Ricky Whaaaaaaaah!' You ever notice something about Slippers ... when he's hanging out at the lawn mower repair facility with Taryl .... he always has a smile on his face ... seems like he's just happy to be there ... I noticed that ... I like that about him ...
WoW... My dad had that exact model of little mower when I was a little kid, over 45 years ago. He made hay for two to four head of cattle with it..... for two to four... "4224" hahaha. He also had a little tiny five-horse walk-behind hand tractor, Briggs powered, with which he would pull this giant hay cart that he sat atop, having fitted long handle extensions on the little tractor... It looked like something out of the so-called "third world"... in which we basically lived... on a day-to-day basis anyway. Thank you for the entertainment, gentlemen. Peace.
Great show Taryl & Co!! You guys are the best...I can't tell you how much basic small engine repair I've learned from your channel! I needed you guys 40 years ago lol. Thanx for all you do. It's not just how to do stuff you're entertaining too! 👍😉👍
The live event was informative. I thought Taryl was 100 times faster than me. Now I know he is only 10 times faster. I still fall down more though. Enjoy all your work!
My father had one of these and used it to keep a field and some walking trails cleared around his property. Worked like a champ for many years. They are great scrub brush mowers... and yea, they take down saplings, no bother. The RPMs also sound about the same as my fathers. I always thought that thing was loud, but it seems to work best at that RPM if I recall correctly. You can also cut the thicker saplings if you disengage the self propel and let the sickle bar gnaw at it for a bit.
Those are great BRUSH MOWERS!! WE HAD ONE YEARS AGO!! After I FINALLY GOT TO THE END OF THE VIDEO,,I SEE YOU FOUND THAT OUT! I'D LOVE TO FIND ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE!! GREAT ON BRIARS, SMALL BUSHES, SMALL TREES ETC.
Great content as always thanks to you and the crew. I need one of those to mow the sides of my road that has automolive and locus trees the size of a drinking straw and it’s a 1/4 mile long.
That sickle bar mower would make short work on Johnson grass. It definitely has its place in the world of grass rats. Good Job Taryl, Junior, Slippers and Ronnie.
It must be a lot of fun being able to to work on that old , rare and classic lawn and garden equipment. It reminds me of another youtuber who works on the classic muscle cars every day. There's an old saying; "When you can love your job, you don't work a day in your life." It's all fun.
Man my great great aunt had one of these and when I was about 9-10 yrs old I got it running and mowed a couple of acres of cow pasture with it, it mowed REALLY well. It must have had oil I wasn't brought enough to check back then lol. Dunno how many years it had been sitting, prob longer than I young back then lol. The self propelled was so cool, I actually used it like a tow motor when I wanted to pull something I wasn't able to I would just bring the sickle mower and use it to drag whatever lol. The levers were a little different both were up near the handles one on each side, PTO and go. I dumped some gas down the throat and she fired right off, I believe it was my first "will it start" situation in life now that I'm thinking about it lol, too bad I didn't have a camera back then of the stuff I fixed and fooled with as a kid, I'd probably not have to make content today, people would bring me all sorts of stuff to fix, cars to electronics/computers I was a nerd in my day.
Hey Taryl. Next live stream, see if you can wear a lapel microphone 🎤. Your voice gets faint as you get further away from the camera. Love your videos, skits, and knowledge of equipment. I have been watching you for years and I have learned tons of information from you! Gives me confidence to work on my yard equipment. Keep it coming! Thanks!!
Last year I picked out of the garage. A lawn edger. It had a breaks and scrapum 2&1/2 hp. I couldn’t believe how cheaply made this B&S engine was. The head bolts were extremely small in diameter, the camshaft gear was plastic. The intake manifold was deteriorated and had holes in it. I don’t remember but I believe the carburetor was plastic. The rest of the edger was in excellent condition. I had an old school cast iron block 2&1/2 hp B&S that I put on the edger. I sold the edger for $100.00. It cost me nothing to repair it. I have stored at my son’s garage. 9 cast iron block B&S engines. When I was growing up. I had the sense to keep all cast iron block B&S engines I garbage picked. It drove my dad crazy. I took one of these engines carburetor butterfly off. The butterfly would only open around 3/4 from being wide open I Filed it down so the throttle would open fully. Filled the tank with gas. Had it mounted on wood platform. Started the engine and ran it at full throttle. It ran perfectly until out of gas. I did this several times seeing if the engine would blow up. Some of the cast iron block B&S engines had aluminum heads. I would sand the face of the head down on thick sheet glass. It took a lot of time to remove at least 1/8” inch off the Aluminum head. The engines actually gained more power. Why B&S got away from the cast iron blocks? Other than the weight just doesn’t make sense. I would think that Cast Iron is less costly than Aluminum. I had also garbage picked a cast iron block that had an Aluminum head,10 hp B&S horizontal shaft engine. I ended up giving it away to a friend’s father. He adapted it to an old school Craftsman Rototiller. This Craftsman Rototiller also had a cast iron gear box. It was almost impossible to control the Rototiller after my friend’s father adapted the 10 hp on the Rototiller. It was a front tine Rototiller. Once all the rocks were removed from my friend’s father’s garden. This Craftsman front tine Rototiller would dig down at least a foot and mix a lot of added compost excellently. If my friend’s father didn’t hold on tight to the Rototiller. It would get away from him. He ended up putting the original 5 hp engine back on the Rototiller. He gave me back the cast iron block B&S 10 hp horizontal engine. I ended up selling it for $50.00. This was in the late 1960’s. Almost every cast iron block B&S horizontal engine I garbage picked. Only needed the points filed. The gas tanks cleaned and sometimes the gasket between the gas tank and the carburetor replaced. Some of these cast iron B&S engines still had the oil air filter. That could be cleaned and add oil to the full mark. I can’t believe that your UA-cam channel never came up in suggested videos. I watch a lot of UA-cam channels that work on small engines and machinist UA-cam channel videos. Anyway I never seen any of your videos. You put excellent humor in your videos. You are also very talented and informative in your videos. I subscribed and over time will watch all of your UA-cam Videos. The fake front teeth you wear in your videos is hilarious.
I'm sorry I missed this buddy maybe you'll do that again I'll keep an eye out on Sundays keep up the great work you've really made quite a market for yourself all of you I know how much work that is to put these on
Love Yazoo mowers they are the best mowers here in Oklahoma , just can't find them anymore.back in the 70 , 80 and 90's was the best brush mowers. Big wheels, great cutters, easy push, yeah.
Gotta come back and say great live stream guys. I really enjoyed it. I've got an old 80s model Jacobsen push mower I'd love to see featured. I think it would make a great video.
I used a sickle bar mower in the 80's and 90's made by Fulton Mfg. of St. Louis, MO. In the mid 40's. Old motor with a pull rope to tie on the handlebar. It had more downtime than anticipated. It's a good thing to cut multi flora roses.
Thanks guys, that was fun. I've never seen a lawn mower like that ,I have seen alot of agricultural harvesting equipment that use the sickle bar cutter. Central California watching

Did you also notice about “Slippers” that he was walking around with an empty coffee mug? :-)
audio sounds great no problem
I have to say, Jr and Slippers are very lucky to have a dad like Teryl. My father passed some years ago and I still miss him everyday.
40 years, nice job Taryl and Carla! It takes a lot of work to make a marriage work so well done!
I like the way you guys explain how and why your doing certain things, it makes working on lawn equipment so much easier.
My contribution to Taryls dental work! Love you guys! I've learned a lot from you!

The factory sure used some odd paint color combinations back in the day! Great video Taryl and crew!
Happy anniversary Taryl and Carla.😁
This was actually pretty cool!!!
Very neat mower! A friend of mine had a Trailblazer mower similar to that. It was dangerously fun to use! Glad to see yours up and going.

That sickle bar mower would make short work on Johnson grass. It definitely has its place in the world of grass rats. Good Job Taryl, Junior, Slippers and Ronnie.
Folks here use them for small hay plots because it cuts the grass down whole.
If it is Johnson grass spray with round Up and plant a no invasive grass
That is an interesting mower. It could be the star or a horror movie.
You make my day! Love the videos. I want one of those mowers for my berry patches. Those are the best for brambles.
