I really symphatize very much that he recovered from cancer. He should be the model and inspiration for all those who suffered and are suffering from that dreadful desease. Having said that, his violin playing is plain basic and stuff being done by most first time music students. The girl accompanying his violin playing with a song is more impressive.

Next to the human voice, especially a female soprano, the violin is *_'thee' most emotional_* instrument in the world. Sadly, I did not *_feel it_* in this performance, and that disappoints because I LOVE this kid and have total respect for his strength of character, fortitude and courage.

His playing was very basic and didn’t really show any skills. There wasn’t really any sort of musicality in it either. I think the crowds reaction was way too much and the judges r either just being nice cause he is a kid, or they r just ignorant😂 no offense to the kid though

Hes a sweet kid and very inspirational but his act just doesn't cut it it's cute and all but every performance is so basic and usually the same
This young man has the talent of playing simplicity very beautifully on one of the most difficult intruments there is to play. He doesn't need dancers or flames or hoops to jump through - he has plenty of just plain talent, something we've forgotten is so essential to an act (not a circus act.)
Elizabeth Burnam there is no “talent” in his act. At most he is playing the same like 5-7 notes with very simple rhythym. And I think there is a difference between basic and simple.

I literally stopped watching AGT because of this kid. He isn’t talented at all. He just has cancer so everyone is like wow so sad he deserves to go through. Brian king Joseph was absolutely robbed of his position in the semifinals.
ChikenMcBiscuit I don’t think it’s right to hate on him especially because it’s not his fault everyone thinks he’s so “amazing” but I play the violin and I agree his skill level is pretty basic and boring. Like I know plenty of people who play the violin who is wayyy more skilled

This is a talent competition? Or sad story competition. Of course I am sympathetic and inspired by his cancer story, but as a talent in violin? Not exactly anything special. He plays average violin for a kid his age. Compare him to a true virtuoso...he could not get into julliard.

Don’t get me wrong, Tyler’s story is amazing and inspirational, but this show focuses too much on a persons story than their actual talent. What he did tonight was definitely not up to champion level. As a young musician myself, I can say that what he did was very simple. Really the only “special” thing he did was vibrato, which isn’t the most difficult thing at all.
