Yeah coming up against a German tank can be rough with conventional rounds but I immediately start sweating when I see an is6, unless you have HEAT-FS or a clear shot at the lower side hull it’s basically invulnerable
I have the is6 and was disappointed...the fact that at this br there are some tanks fire heat shells with a 400 millimeter pen, which makes all tanks paper armor. The number of times I was one shot by leopard or lepanzers is frustrating for a 40 $ tank. and not to mention the low penetration of the is6 but this tank is very good especially for its mobility, but at this price, buy an object 120
Since the is6 is so fast you should play it more like a medium than a heavy, especially when fighting HEATFS singers. Don't except to eat shot after shot as you can't do that forever, HEAT isn't a real problem for me at all as I don't sit out in the open and try to eat shot after shot, take cover when possible. Yes the gun is somewhat lacking in penetration but it makes up for it with the post pen, most tanks you see at that BR don't have enough armour to stop your round from penning, and the tanks that DO have some major weakspots; also you can overmatch the sides of a lot of tanks you see, so pen shouldn't be an issue. Once you learn the weak points of the tanks you struggle with they won't be much of an issue, for instance, to kill a maus get point blank on it's sides and shoot. For centuries u can overmatch sides or simply shoot the LFP, UFP sometimes works too. To kill an M48 frontally hit the LFP (you can hit it's turret near the gun mantlet where the armour is flattest, but volumetrix sometimes screws you over. It i's easily one of the best tanks of the tier when played right. Also when fighting tanks whih fire solid shot it can be helpful to angle the turret a bit so thst they cant hit your mantlet EDIT: Fixing autocorrect EDIT 2: Added the turret-angling part
I have gotten 4 nukes in a week with is6. must be skill issue on your end. what do u mean low pen? i rarely find anything i cannot pen. in uptier tanks lose armor and go for mobility. maybe u cannot pen maus
Do you expect it to be in like 6.0 or smth it's balanced heatfs is the solution to these things I've used it and it boosted my Russian tech tree significantly

i got downtierred once to around 5-7.6.0 using the is6 and i just ran out and took 50+ shots non of them penned me XD truly a great biased game
I faced 2 IS-6 squad in a full downtier. That match convinced me to buy it in the sale, but not before I managed to kill one with an ostwind 2
The only thing this guy tank lacks is what most war thunder players have, depression.
Ah, good and old is6, bought it for only 20 euros on the 10th anniversary, love to play with it, hate to go agaisnt it.

The best vehicle for killing the is-6 for me, it's the Ferdinand, shoot to the left of the barrel and that's it.
