Since many years of my playing of piano I could clearly understand the ornamentation of notes first time with the help of your teaching. God bless you beti.

Namaste Madamji, Very important lesson for Ornamentation in Hindustani music. Thank you Madamji.I have doubt about these issues like (1) SNS,RSR, or SRS,RGR etc called Khatka by some musicians (2) DPMP is Murki of P, RSNS or SNRS is Murki of S.(3) Madamji, You Said that G G G G M P D P is Gamak, I think that G=MG that means G G G G M P D P= MG MG MG MG PM DP ND DP. Am I correct or not about Gamak and also (1),(2) are correct or not?.Your lesson about Ornamentations is very Superb. I can't heard sofar about Ornamentation lesson Nicely before You Madamji.I Request You, Please Explain in deeply in the above Ornamentations Separately, Madamji, you have forgotten" Kanswar" Concept. Thanking You once again, Madamji.
Answer to question 1 - Khatka is very short, fast and crisp - so in your question of whether SNS is a khatka - the NS part of it when sung fast is a khatka. In SRS - RS sung fast becomes a khatka Answer to question 2 - in our tutorial we have only shown a couple of examples of murkhi. The ones your have mentioned in your question - DPMP, SNRS etc will qualify as a murkhi when sung in loop Answer to question number 3 - Gamak doesn't mean to use adjacent swara to sing a particular swara. Gamak refers to singing a swara with heaviness (increased weight) of the voice, as demonstrated in the video - G G G G R S N S with and without heaviness. It doesn't mean using MG to sing G. Also we will be covering Kan Swars in a separate lesson.
