Not many words are exchanged with friends when tripping. Part of that is due to fear (for me, personally). But another bigger part is due to mutual understanding and no need for words in that state

Patty Melt I sat in sun with four people today in nature on lucy; words were not needed most the time. The understanding and connection was explicit in the minds of each one of us; to the extent linguistic words seemed impervious and obsolete.

McKenna's perspectives should be reserved as an entire university course to study, perhaps called 'Philosophy of Hyperspace' or something. Exploring his theories and visions.
And everyone shall smoke DMT at the exam under shamanic watch, and then writing about it immediately upon returning from The Dome.
Who else, with me, has taken this exam on their own private terms?

Great idea friend, maybe one day we, as a world, will have our primary focus shifted from myopic avarice to insightful concrescence towards spiritual progress. Unfortunately, as it stands today, our government would sooner put you in a cage for advocating your ideals than sanction them at an institution. We are victims of a truly sick global climate and I see no way off this train bound for desolation; short of revolution. Good luck free thinkers, heres to the corporate dictatorship of America: may she crumble under the weight of her own blind avarice and from the rubble may we build something "Good, True and Beautiful." Well.. at least "True Enough". ;)

Jon Mcmann I felt similarly after playing rugby/lacrosse from the age of 6, I was injuring myself broken 6 fingers and severely dislocated my ring finger. I lacerated my kidneys and have received more concussions than I can count. One was bad enough that I had memory loss and was confused for weeks, most likely more effects that I didn't notice at the time. I'm glad I stopped at 21 after winning 2 championships before I caused my body more damage beyond repair.

Great point. You can " say" whatever you want is TRUTH. The power of words to produce illusion is vast. Children's minds are like like molten wax, that later hardens into stone. Very hard to change the imprints. Taking psychedelics can be like putting the brain back into the molten state and allowing it to reform ( in the best case scenario). Love Terrence, master of using language to unmask The Lie. 🐸 🌺

@@gratefulkm I liked your comment. About 8 years ago I was sitting in on a discussion with group of physicists, mathematicians and other scientists, there was s big discussion of whether our (human) mathematics was real math or just a reflection of how our brains were made up. The idea of say lines, planes, natural numbers, imaginary, etc., are construct of how our brains think. Perhaps there are other mathmatics that exist if other species were to exist. Second thing is something Robert Fritz pointed and I think Alan Watts did, too, and that is the idea that we confuse the models or ideas about the world for realty. Watts if see we only have seen a painted ceiling and we're told that is the sky, that is the sky to us. Sadly it is not the sky. Fritz said when he is working therapist the big thing is for them to throw out their preconceived notion whether it be Freud or Albert Ellis, you need to put those ideas aside to listen to the patient to see what is going on with them. Like the Joanie Mitchell song, we carry these models that filter our reality so we don't know what the reality is all. We forget that the model is just a model and the reality maybe something. In Joanie Mitchell's case we think dialectically.
A scientist friend said to me that we have a great model for some things but reality is something else.

Some people may think that what Terence talks about is product of hallucinations, but it is not about "drugs", these sort of plants are a tool from nature to recognize who we are and what is our purpose as human beings, what we are doing, what we are capable of, what is the relationship between nature and our consciousness, returning to the roots by self realization.
Now these psychedelic usage is not for everyone, you have to be prepared in some way if you don't want to catch a 'bad trip'. This is not about recreation, but knowledge, REALIZATION OF OUR COUNSCIOSNESS. Is the sort of thing that answer questions like Why do people practice meditation or yoga, why people read the bible or have a religion, why do people get hope or show compassion, why people around the world want peace and happiness. We're all asking for a brighter future.
We have the technology, we have knowledge, we need to realize we have to do the right thing, to be the best of ourselves, to be good.
Plants and meditation are just tools that lead you to the deep of your soul and your humanity. To catch our sense of communion, with other people and nature. The work is ours, not of the Psychedelics, not of another person that we hope to stand up and talk about this. This is about evolution of our specie, of ourselves by the hand of the universal knowledge.
We all need to realize, we must talk about this sort of things, bust must of all we need to do something by trying out best, develop our full potential, not wasting time on wars, on hating each other, on criticizing. It is inevitable and it is happening. Not just believe in yourself, know yourself!

We simply lost our way. People thousands of years ago knew of our true reality i.e. Truth. As generations passed we didn't pass down the knowledge to our kids family friends etc. information got lost. While there are still ppl out there who know about this- there's way too many people who don't know - who thinks it's just psudeoscience. They only believe what they see hear taste smell touch. And it's ok. We live in cycles. This age is ignorance. We will eventually prosper. Enjoy the experience of living life and help and serve others. Be selfless - it's the best form of worship. God bless.

Major revelation for me lol. I've had a couple good trips and after reflecting on them as well as listening to this video here is my conclusion. Recently I started to believe this whole world around us was an illusion, and if that was true that meant my physical being is an illusion and this belief only contributed negatively to my depersonalization. Before I tried shrooms, I expected to see a whole different world, however when I actually tried them, I saw a much more enhanced and greater picture of the world we live in. This is a good example to the point I'm trying to make. The world we live in is not an illusion. The way we perceive this physical plane is an illusion, and theres just so much more to it than meets the eye. Which I already presumed, but now realize it must be to a much more vast extent because logically, everything is connected.

I am slowly slipping into a great sadness at what mankind could have become. The evolution and unimagined potential given away long long ago for a security, a strength, a lie that was somehow insanely thought could be had from some truly eqaul human, insane but eqaul, that placed himself above all others to offer security from lord knows what. Its just totally amazing how few people choose to not conform, not follow, not possess, makes the world a lonely place. Seems the more I have come to love all life purely I am attacked on all sides from the evil in mens hearts from this insane society. McKenna is a super man and I miss his lectures, I miss his free thought.

It's strange. The things McKenna and others always talk about happening when tripping (realizing the facade that is society/culture/reality) is something that I've been experiencing for the last 3 months after quitting weed. I never really realized these things even when high on weed, but after about 11 months of constant smoking, an awakening begun that seems akin to the revelations you have on psychedelics. On one hand I want to try psychedelics to experience these amazing revelations spoken of here, but on the other hand I've realized them already on my own through my awakening with reading and self contemplation and am still coming to terms with what it all means for my life. Are psychedelics really necessary for these realizations? I don't think so. I think simply exposing yourself to these ideas by watching videos like this or reading spiritual books with an open mind can be equally enlightening. Psychedelics could be classified as a shortcut to awakening. Then again, I feel as though SLOWLY coming to terms with these ideas with a clear mind is more valuable than having them overloaded into your brain in an altered state of consciousness. But what do I know? I've never used psychedelics, so I'm sure there's an understanding I still haven't reached yet that they could teach me.

    • @3-methylindole730
      @3-methylindole730 Рік тому +2

McKenna spoke about this also: you only understand the psychedelic experience by having it. Knowing realizations is absolutely not the same as experiencing them directly and BECOMING them. The boundary dissolution through psychedelics is uniquely strong in its impact and reinforces these realizations much better than if you have awakened to those facts. The difference is bigger than one CAN expect, even I knew most of the things which I later came to experience first hand, but these experiences in the psychedelic ecstatic state of mind were the turning point for me, as only then it was becoming so permeable and clear, as seeing these things makes them more memorable than only thinking about them.

This is one of those topics that is considered kinda "obvious" to anyone, yet I would bet that only a handful of people ACTUALLY consider the implications of that. It really means being waken up to a completely strange and weird reality. Love this piece, McKenna always has a way with language ;)

What was said here is hardly subject for debate, for it all seems so obvious once considered (though considering such things does not always occur to us, and thus the value of men such as this), yet these kinds of ideas are the subject of much controversy. More often still, I think they are routinely ignored without due regard.
It always seems very odd to me when people utterly dismiss someone speaking thusly; is there not an innate desire to understand, whether or not it results in assent? Apparently not, as many people hear this kind of talk and just say "ehh, a bunch of mumbo jumbo" but it is unfathomable to me how this satisfies. I would not be able to rest until I knew what he meant, for clearly he means something in earnest.

symbioticgemini Generally speaking, the ideas presented in this video are not given due attention because many people do not seek to understand, but dismiss the speaker and his ideas before making an honest effort.
Ideas should be understood before rejected, and ideas should also be judged independent of their source (in this case, the speaker).

Terrence Mckenna was one of the seed's from the star race that was granted an opportunity to molecularly advance himself and others through his transformation in life. I've been feeling the sychronistic feeling which is funny to me that people are putting the piece's back together for them selves, and moving towards and empowered self informed understanding of life

My view is that McKenna has realized a lot of Good Truth through his searches and methods, and acted an Ethical Life. He knew that the stereotyped contents of relativized truth syntaxes doesn't amount to Truth. But this doesn't say that TRUTH DOESN'T EXIST, and I think he wasn't saying that. But "True Enough" is a slippery way of saying "True".
