This video was a helpful start but also misleading. Chapter 5: Calibration in the Product Manual shows that axis 2 is to be calibrated in the opposite direction. Axis 1, 2 and 3 can all be done simultaneously, otherwise something is flipped. The manual also specifies that the revolution counters aren't to be updated manually for this robot. For the IRB 120, the rev counters are auto updated once calibration is done. You can then go to the sync marks to double check it was done correctly. The manual also contains the marks for 5 and 6, they aren't easy to see without the pictures.
I was about to correct you on the Rev counter update, but you guys manned up and admitted your mistake, later in your video. You would have been in all kinds of trouble had you left it. Your log would have been full of probably joint collisions and auto stops depending on what your robot there does. Hope you got it up and running properly!
Hallo, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I can calibrate the IRB 120 following this guide. But after shutting down and again turning on, the calibration data get lost. It asked me again to calibrate the robot. Can anyone please help me with saving the calibration data. I dont want to recalibrate it after every restart
I have to use this video every couple of years! 👍🏻

That's exactly what I've been searching for! Mind me asking how much you paid for the IRB120?
