This ability idea is really fun. I think another potential idea with it could be: Tell your opponent what your 3 starters are (with one lie) and they pick which one they want you to have, then you chose the ability. So ideally both teams would end up with all of the "worst" options and you would try to make them usable with the ability you give it
Shady, thank you for implementing my suggestion. It was worth the super chats! You kick ass. I'd love to see you guys next time catch and plan your letter mons. The strategy game would be sick.
2T1L by first letter of the starters' names, along with abilities needing to be of the same first letter; this is the most complex yet interesting concept combo I've seen on this channel yet. It's different but enjoyable at the same time
This is absolutely the best version of the then we battle series to date. So much more interesting than most of the others although the lie feels a bit unnecessary for this one? The info is already so limited.
I think it would be a lot of fun to implement the rule that if they choose the pokemon you lied about then they have to use the letter that you lied with. So covering the arceus with a T, they now have to use a T ability since they chose the lie.
This video was great, would like like a 30-90 second clip of you fellas building your teams and explaining some of the theory around why you chose what you did. Wouldn't work for every then we battle but this one could.
I know it would be a TON of extra work, but I have always thought it would be really cool to see a team recap before the fight starts. Even still, you STAY making banger vids, my guy!
There is no way I have the same hoodie on as you shady!! Literally just got home from work showered and got dressed and through that exact hoodie on! Made my day!! Lmao just kinda crazy
Next time you do this, maybe you could do it where if you pick the lie, you have to pick an ability with the lie letter instead of the real letter. Adds some mind games for which letters you’d pick for which mons
Luke's inability to pronounce Z was so painful. Shady's was fine, but Luke was just the worst There wasn't any difference between the two, but you can't say 'Zee' with a British Accent.
An entertaining battle as always 😁 loved all of the type immunity abilities popping off, everyone always forgets about Dry Skin. But there was no way Shady was gonna lose with an As One Arceus in the back 😅
Another spin could be you look at your save then give the first letters of your mons and that choses the ability, they are allowed to pick whoever based on the mon and the letter. It also means they have to guess what Pokémon you have based off of the first letter. And then they do the same. I phrased that poorly but I hope my point gets across
I literally just saw this concept on a channel named HoodCal yesterday… Edit: Ok, so you did actually do it slightly differently. You picked letters based on the current stage instead of final evo, and you didn’t letter-lock the moves, only the abilities. Still. Very similar.
Yo - thanks for watching :]
Thanks for posting :]
Love you dad
You’re welcome. Enjoy your stream!
Not prob
Thanks for posting shady!
The ability caveat is such an awesome idea

Shady once again proving himself a man of culture by naming his Delphox after Frieren
Totally agree with that statement ✋
😂 nice
by watching mainstream anime?
The elf 😂
@@CoffeeAhead .... atone for ur sins
This new way of picking abilities is amazing!
Also, Shady gave Luke the absolute work this battle omg
13:15 the way shady said "not again, not again, not again" just brings back memories from the well baked body sweeps
Shady’s game plans are just lit 🔥 definitely my favorite channel out of the bunch to watch , keep up the great work !
Imagine if Shady went Adaptability Arceus with choice band and just clicked Extreme Speed
Me when ghost type
Arceus was N
@@pranit8437the lie letter doesn’t change their ability letter
@@ikenshnikenableapart from the fact that it does. Eg, shady taking an F absolute on snover
@@CLE_Nathan19 It doesn't lol and he took Simple as an ability. What are you smoking when watching the video?
I really love watching these. It’s fun to watch Shady battle competitively again, even if it is just with friends
Shady just mentioned Swords Dance Ice shard Abomasnow on his stream an hour ago... and that literary tool is called foreshadowing
Dude this made the battle sooooo entertaining!!!!! Great idea shady 🔥
Shady, thank you for implementing my suggestion. It was worth the super chats! You kick ass.
I'd love to see you guys next time catch and plan your letter mons. The strategy game would be sick.

1:57 "there are some bad z Pokémon"
Him: *Can't think of any*
Me: *screaming Zubat at my phone-*
Zangoose. Zangoose is not good. I'm sorry, Zangoose fans, but he's not a good mon.
Zigzagoon too. I've got a soft spot for Linoone but without Obstagoon it's pretty weak.
the dry skin well baked body part had me absolutely cracking up
I really like the ability twist with this video, that's a really fun idea I would love to see in more letter videos
Spoiler Shield🛡️
"Not again" had me dying
I know Luke was super unlucky this battle but Shady’s strategies seemed really competent and thought out
Shady: Since I have Dry Skin, Ground's only weakness is Grass
*Ice type left the chat*
7:24 not sure if making Copperajah look like it was holding its stat board with its trunk was intentional, but if so that was a great touch
Lucario has been able to learn Shadow Ball by TM since his introduction in Gen 4. Only in Gen 8 was it removed. He also learns Shadow Claw.
Thank you. I had to look that up, and It's so far down the TM learnset I almost missed it.
This is absolutely the best version of the then we battle series to date. So much more interesting than most of the others although the lie feels a bit unnecessary for this one? The info is already so limited.
The Dry Skin into Well Baked Body was golden
This was such a creative video, you just keep overdoing yourself brother. Keep up the quality content!
Adaptability, choice band, tera normal arecus with extreme speed would be terrifying 😂
I think it would be a lot of fun to implement the rule that if they choose the pokemon you lied about then they have to use the letter that you lied with. So covering the arceus with a T, they now have to use a T ability since they chose the lie.
This is probably my favorite one so far. I love the ability restriction idea.
Shady playing on point out of his mind today, didn't even need God, he was already unstoppable.
Is a double para and a miss really playing out of his mind?
You and the whole crew should do a tournament where you’re all gym leaders of different types.
holy CRAP Shady you absolutely BODIED this battle!!!!
I love how cocky Luke is, all just to get slapped up 😂
"You're not even 25% man" might be the most savage thing I've ever heard on one of these videos😂
Definitely do this but with total letters of the Pokémon’s names
That ability gimmick made this one of my favorite types so far
Shady was INSANE this battle, honestly surprising me just as much as Luke lmao
That was arguably one of the better ideas for a video. You should do more of these!
This is probably my favorite "Then we battle" so far. I loved the letter to ability concept
14:24 this killed me lmao 🤣🤣🤣
This video was great, would like like a 30-90 second clip of you fellas building your teams and explaining some of the theory around why you chose what you did. Wouldn't work for every then we battle but this one could.
A Dry Skin Delphox and Well-baked Body Kilowattrel. That has to be the smartest thing I've seen!
Huge Power Hoppip is gonna go hard 😂
I know it would be a TON of extra work, but I have always thought it would be really cool to see a team recap before the fight starts. Even still, you STAY making banger vids, my guy!
This was such a fun battle the dry skin delphox was so funny and the slowking getting paralyzed into encore
There is no way I have the same hoodie on as you shady!! Literally just got home from work showered and got dressed and through that exact hoodie on! Made my day!! Lmao just kinda crazy
Shady played this so well, even the Clefable blunder wasn’t that bad as it gave him time to come up with the idea that Delphox is faster than Greninja
Greninja outsped Delphox, he was just bluffing so Luke wouldn't think of dry skin
That dry skin gambit was next level
For being a massive steel elephant, Copperajah’s defenses are abyssmal
Love how Luke LOVES the Pokémon the has blocked every door he walked in during his Playthrough
You quite literally used Luke’s own Oven to cook him this battle
Next time you do this, maybe you could do it where if you pick the lie, you have to pick an ability with the lie letter instead of the real letter. Adds some mind games for which letters you’d pick for which mons
I love this version of how you pick and select abilities
This was my favorite one in a while. Some really big brain stuff goin’ on here.
Ok the two of you just cracked me up this episode love it!
What a fun and enjoyable twist on the traditional Then We Fight video format
The ability stuff was actually pretty neat, would love to see it again
This was an awesome idea for a video! The letters and abilities matching was my favorite so far
You guys are my favorite combo for these videos. Absolute heater
Luke's inability to pronounce Z was so painful. Shady's was fine, but Luke was just the worst
There wasn't any difference between the two, but you can't say 'Zee' with a British Accent.
Shouldn’t Luke have had a different ability for Galarian Zlowbro?
Gotta love that low-poly Froakie.
An entertaining battle as always 😁 loved all of the type immunity abilities popping off, everyone always forgets about Dry Skin. But there was no way Shady was gonna lose with an As One Arceus in the back 😅
This is probably the worst luck Luke's ever had.
SPOILER SHIELD 🛡️🛡️
I freaking love this concept. MORE!!! MORE!!! MORE!!!!
This is crazy. I thought I was watching a livestream. Oh well. More Shady for my addiction.
You can actually do the math yourself if the lights are properly calibrated to the speed of the road
This has to be one of your best top 3 performances Shady! 🔥
Using rr strats in his 1v1s now shady has improved since playing rr ❤️
Love how he tried to lie about Arceus and it failed anyways haha
Shady and Luke are a fucking duo I cannot live without. This video was hilarious 😂 I wanna see a rematch
It's not even a surprise when shady wins at this point, none of the people he makes videos with are as good as he is
when you show off the abilities and "As One" is one, you should but a G or an S next to it so we know which one it is
Shady watching anime of the year, cultured.
I checked, in this game, Lucario DOES get Shadow Ball in this game
Shady so sweaty You can see it on his pits lol
yo wonder guard would have been nice on killowatrel because its only weak against 2 uncommon types being ice and rock
if Shady isn’t 25% man then is he 5% shade, 20% man, 75% penguin?
0:35 I am Cutie :3
i love this video idea! do more like this!
Next video we will be choosing pokemon with one pixel and 2 of them are lies and the colours are opposite
Yall should do one where you guess the abilities or get them from spinning a wheel & then randomize the pokemon you get
I really like this concept!
I'm glad Shady won, after Luke said that 25% joke.
Well baked body instead of wind rider???? It's the actual good stuff ability😂
King Shady back at it again with another banger
Shady fought so well this match! Wow, really impressed! (Luke was good too)
i love that the intros become so fast that it doesnt even include "we have" anymore XD
Surprised I didn't see a h or p for huge and pure power. I like this concept for battles.
I'm impressed that shady watching Frieren either 😂
I really liked this one. I’d love to see another one with this same ability caveat
Love these vids Shady
That was the best chaotic then we fights ever 😂
This might be my new favorite gimmic for picking abilities
I like this concept really :)

It also means they have to guess what Pokémon you have based off of the first letter. And then they do the same. I phrased that poorly but I hope my point gets across
You should do this again, but if they pick the lie, the ability has to start with the lie letter
I literally just saw this concept on a channel named HoodCal yesterday…
Edit: Ok, so you did actually do it slightly differently. You picked letters based on the current stage instead of final evo, and you didn’t letter-lock the moves, only the abilities. Still. Very similar.
That was so fun! I love this concept!
Frieren?!? I knew there was a reason Shady is my fave poketuber 😂❤
