    I have an answer for this! I work at an advertising agency/photography studio. And I’m 100% sure that the reason why they put all these Lego pieces into little bowls, is to appeal to the (non-Lego) adult demographic, in the “Adults welcome” campaign. So when these photos they’re trying to show ADULTS building, in CLEAN and NICE homes. So part of that would be putting the Lego into little colorful bowls.
    As for why some of the pieces are random and don’t fit with the sets, whoever the Art Director was on this shoot, clearly did not care about the pieces that would be used in each set

      Additionally it could be to show off what type of pieces you'll be working with. Some people don't like working with the smaller, fiddly pieces so being able to see that a kit mostly uses X sized ones or certain shapes is helpful.

    what people do from my experience is since the bags are numbered they dump out the bag into a bowl and than the tinier bag inside it into a small bowl than they build the set like that per numbered bag. And this is very useful especially for large collectors sets that are 1000 plus pieces because it almost guarantees you wont lose a piece or drop it when you open the bag.
    The only thing weird about this is the pieces being seemingly random rather than with the set which could all just be a marketing thing to show the sets more organized and clean as another user commented.

      Each bag is numbered, and lasts for 10-20 steps, and often having small bags with the tiny pieces (Such as the single-stud pieces.)
      I would use two bowls: one for the main bag, one for the smaller bags with tiny pieces.
      If I have any larger pieces (such as 2x20 sticks or large wheels) I'd put them aside until they're needed.
      I do this so I don't lose pieces as I build them, and so I don't have to sift through hundreds of pieces as if I had them all together in a single container.

    It’s just advertising. They need to hit certain color palettes and have certain visually appealing ratios there’s actually a lot of marketing research that goes into stuff like this so if you think Lego has an interest in only appeasing to experienced builders in their campaigns you would be very wrong.

    @Capt_Chaos_91 Рік тому +15

    I feel like this is super petty…

  • @eviljbrian
    @eviljbrian Рік тому

    I've built several sets and never separated my pieces across several bowls. Each set I built had between 15 to 25 bags (with Bowser being the most.)
    I dumped each bag into one bowl (so I don't lose the pieces), and then the smaller bags with the small pieces into another (again, so I don't lose the pieces) with me pulling out any large pieces and setting them aside until they get used.
    Once that bag was finished after anywhere between 10-20 steps, I would repeat using the same bowls. Again, so I don't use pieces.
    The worst thing that can happen when building a lego set, is losing pieces while your building.

    I dont even sort my pieces. I just dumo the bags on the table and search around for 5 mins for that one last piece needed to complete the step, then ask my wife to come help me find it and she usually locates it within 10 seconds
