This is what i always say, i dont care about these scripted videos ppl are putting out trying to be a tv show. Just show us your lifestyle on camera, dont even need that good of editing.
It's about consistency when it comes to the vlogging. Gotta be busy. Matt Character was correct about having projects. It is ultimately what gives you the content. Your style of fever dream vlogs is honestly super entertaining. It's not someone talking about one thing for 15 minutes. It's a summary type of daily life updates and it's like we are along for the ride for the 10 minutes you put out. Distracting us from our unfulfilled lives endlessly scrolling our UA-cam feeds. Gives us hope and motivation to go "I could cool things like this too. I could quit drinking a half a fifth everyday. I could workout and practice a hobby like archery and being a home cook. I could go on long walks in the woods and collect carcass remains" instead of the daily toiling of the never ending laundry and washing dishes by hand. "Hey guys, Donut here, I'm drinking ranch water with best friends who are famous like me." It's really such an escape and positive motivator. It really inspires me to get more active in the community and inspires me to always be better. Much love homie!!
Honestly, this is some of the better kinda content I like. Reviews, reactions, and much of what's on YT is a dime a dozen. Getting real life vlogs is almost rare these days, and I think helps keep folks connected with their content creators. Sure mix it up with your usual breakdowns of things, or even talking about products, shops or whatnot, but this kinda "here's my day" vlog is underrated and always welcome.
Hey man I've been subscribed for a long time and if I can say anything about your content especially your vlogs is your 100% genuine and it's such a refreshing difference from other UA-cam content whatever you do just keep it real always appreciate the content man thanks
I really like your vlogs, man. More than your main channel. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself like you did early this year. Anxiety and panic attacks are no good!
Donut, don't fix what's not broken. You're channel is incredibly interesting. Just take what you have and push out more quantity but keep the quality. (If you want growth, but don't overwork yourself)
One thing I've noticed about donut is he's very OCD so he is always in constant battle inside his brain like oh its not good enough I gotta do this or that I've seen him get in a huge funk over his internal struggles an were watching like its great why you stressing
It is awesome that you collaborating with so many different people. I love the casual conversations with other creators. I think that is the secret sauce for your vlogs.
Best part about your vlogs donut is that they are authentic and real. Genuine and not staged with some BS. Plus your a good and funny dude who doesn't take shit too serious and its refreshing and enjoyable for your views to watch and get a good laugh in. Keep it up bro💪🏽
Honestly dude I love all your content, I love the vlogs and seeing behind the scenes of you hanging out with all your awesome friends, and I also appreciate your experience and breakdowns on your police videos, keep up the great work dude
Donut, the Vlog's are just you being you. We enjoy hearing your thought process and seeing the adventures you get into. In other words, you just keep being you and enjoying life.
It's an Ari I love your vlogs and Heather's interview stuff I haven't seen anyone else do anything like them on YT. It's a breath of fresh air in a sea of boring family/ rich influencer flexing vlogs
I look forward to Living Vicariously through you Now, couldn’t think of a thing I’d change. Your Living the good Life Brother, I’ll catch you on the next one. Keep It Safe Out There Sir
The way you do your vlogs right now is great, I think. There's not a lot of content out there (seemingly) that is kind of a run down of "just" daily life. Getting to see that sort of stuff is cool, and helps to build a connection for people. Plus when you're doing the kind of cool stuff you often do, and are into, it's refreshing to see. There's not much content of that type with folks who are into the sorts of interests you've got, and that most (I would guess) of those of us who follow your channels are into. And honestly getting to see glimpses of what appear to be real-life interactions that you have with the people close to you (John, Heather, Brandon, Baddie, Eli, etc.) and the pets and such is pretty cool. Throw in some breakdowns, reactions, etc. from time to time and you've got essentially the perfect channel. Kind of a combo of both channels into one, but with a heavier skew towards the fever dreams. If that makes any sense. Biggest thing though is you being yourself. That's really, for myself anyway, the biggest draw to your channels. You give off an air of being very genuine, and just an overall good dude. I guess that was a long winded way of saying keep up the good work, and thank you for making relatable and pretty uplifting content. 👍
As I smith, I can say that kamikoto knives is using the poorest quality and cheapest stainless steel that is produced. They advertise is as some kinda specialized Japanese steel and bump up the price hundreds of dollars while using the literal worst stainless steel mankind has ever created. They advertise it as being special Japanese forged when it's just stamped out by the thousands. You can buy $2 knives from dollar tree that have 10× the material worth. But hey, at least they have the common courtesy to send a wet stone with it so that you can sharpen it every time you finish chopping one tomato...
I love your videos! There's a reason people watch your videos. we all like the way you do it! Watching all your videos, I got back into cooking again! Thanks for what you do and who you are. Keep it up!
That man bun makes me laugh evrtytime you sport it...lol I watch you're channel all the time but that is just funny, everytime. And yes, I would mention it regularly in person. lol
This is the only vlog channel I consistently watch, I find most others are too boring a padded. Not yours, they’re the perfect length and move a good pace.
Alot of big youtube channels die because the trending content changes everytime and the content creators try so hard to keep up with them even if their channels aren't created for those kind of contents. It don't matter if the viewers come down to watch the content or just come down to tell the creators to stop destroying themselves. Alot of youtubers also became so insecure and so arrogant over time, you'd be surprised how friendly and innocent they are when they started their own channel. My Advice is that you should keep Operation Donut just Operation Donut, do whatever you love to do, don't make the channel unrecognizable just because you feel like you're becoming obsolete. We will still be here always. Ofcourse my point isn't to tell you that don't dream for the channel to grow big, i myself would love to see it grow (that's what she said haha) but don't do the stuffs that are against your will just for the views.
Donut, If you see this, I want to let you know that you do have something else going on here that other vloggers don't. Keep it up. Make them 10+ minutes and you'd get a good steady base of watchers. Keep up the good work! We appreciate it
Hey Donut, maybe a break down of plans for your month. It could cover larger goals and us the viewers could anticipate it with you instead of checking in with a new video. Love the stuff you make, keep on trucking!
Cody, do net change things, and do not overcomplicate. That randomnes of yours is awesome to watch. Also when you are prepping food it's nice to watch.
Honestly the fever dream vlogs are real entertaining all in all while most other youtuber blogs are. I went on my boat, swam nothing cool happend at all. And repeat while yours have random things that can happen within them that always makes them so good
I love the fever dream vlogs they’re unique to you and they’re a ton of fun to watch. Especially cause like how you said we get to see all the cool stuff you get to do I do think it would be awesome to see more of you cooking but that that’s just cause I like the recipes you show they’re awesome. But regards I’ll watch whatever you put out man.
Honestly I think following through with your ideas that are thrown around on vlogs or the podcasts would be a good start to kick starting this channels growth.
CODY! YOUR VLOG IS EXCELLENT ALL GOOD, NO NEED CHANGING ANYTHING. KEEP THE GOOD CONTENT AND AWESOME WORK! I LOVE THESE LIKE 10 MINUTES SHOWING OFF YOUR DAY'S! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love the fever dream affect! You do have a unique life/story and you do your thing well! Mabey just throw some b-roll or bit of lo-fi music when you transition to break it up. Love both your channels and try to catch every twitch stream you do!

All in all... You do you... Whether it's fever dreams or road trips with John.. it's all Entertaining and what makes it entertaining is the person I speak for myself knowing else but whatever you put out I watched and makes my day go faster especially on unsubscribe that is hilarious so keep on trucking you do you people going to love and no matter, yeeyee
Enjoyed it to the fullest. Ya Donut you can totally make this channel way more big, yall family and the type of content you can put out has so many potential than other youtubers family vlogging channel (no hate tho) , just stating that ya family's interesting to watch, the kinds of stuffs that you guys do are always so interesting. Plus you always got the most random shot to end the video with lmao. Keep Up Man. Love and Support from Asia
F*** yeah exciting vlog stuff and been following yours and others in the um pew community's content for a while and I enjoy the family vlogs it lets us know that you are real people and not just gun related superstars anyway rock on Cody.
I am from Oregon but I was in San Antonio for work this week for a Cybersecurity conference, had no idea you were based out of there. Visited the Alamo with my colleagues. Next time I’m in town, I’ll buy you a beer. I was never LEO, but did three vacations in Iraq.
Donut, as with most things in life, the key to success is really consistency. If you want your vlog channel to thrive, you just have to be consistent about your uploads. That doesn't mean you have to be out every single day doing "crazy stuff." It just means the content you do have you need to upload consistently. Like once every few days, and definitely no less than once a week. But that can mean a single weekend could be content you could space out over 2-3 videos for the week. Whatever the workload you're comfortable with doing consistently. You have the personality for this, and the friends for it. So long as you don't burn out on it (so know your limits and stick to them) and so long as you are consistent, FE is right.
I think the key to growing this channel comes down to a few different things. I could write out way more, but these are what came to the top of my mind. 1.) Consistency: It doesn't have to be every day or even multiple times a week. Once a week would be an excellent start, but don't kill yourself trying to achieve it. If you miss a week, thats totally cool. It's YOUR business/life/channel, so YOU get to make the rules. But consistency - over the long term - is king. 2.) Own Your Style: The "fever dream" style of content is fairly unique to you. I haven't really seen anyone else doing that sort of thing. It's what came the most naturally to you, and it's developed a great audience so far. Think about how you can maintain that style of content, but also maybe refine what goes into it. Don't question it, just dive into it and own it. Maybe take an hour at the beginning of the week to think about what your schedule looks like for the week, and highlight days or activities that might be fun to film. But, don't overthink it. If something pops up that isn't scheduled, that totally fine. Go with the flow, it suits you best. As an additional note, the "fever dream" style is an excellent strategy to boost retention rates and view times because unless we intentionally look at the time stamp, there's no way to tell when it ends. Keep that. 3.) Go With the Flow: One of the reasons people like vlogs so much is because it is an escape. We feel like we are a part of your life, living it right next to you. When you do cool stuff, we do it with you. When you meet new people, we're meeting them with you. We become invested into the story that's being told on camera. So although it's good to plan and strategize content, it's also important to bring us along on the journey if you want to build that connection and investment. 4.) Create Goals: This can come in a bunch of different forms. You could do a Matt Carriker and have a whole bunch of projects to manage and show, or you could take a different route and set some goals that already fit your lifestyle. The whole point is, by setting goals, the journey to achieve them gives you content to create along the way. And at the end of it, you've accomplished whatever it is that you set out to do. 5.) Sustainability: Whatever direction you decide to take, you have to do something that's sustainable. Because sustainability of content equals consistency of content over the long term. If you get burnt out because you've hustled for 3 months trying to pump out 3 videos a week, it just isn't going to work. Find a content strategy that works with your lifestyle, not one that owns it. As I mentioned above, going with the flow of your existing life seems like the best way to do it. 6.) Monetize, Monetize, and MONETIZE: At the end of the day, this has to be worth it for you. There's no way around that. If it doesn't provide a benefit to you, then why do it? You have an incredible audience base, and an incredible opportunity to make ungodly amounts of money. You should own that and foster that ability 100% of the way. Make 10 minute videos with front and back end ads. Take sponsors. Endorse products. Plug your own businesses. Push merch sales. Monetize everything. You can use this channel as another sales funnel to other products/businesses/projects. Now, OBVIOUSLY, you have to make sure that the content doesn't suffer because of it, but honestly with your personality and how I've seen you do advertisements, it wont. And we will absolutely sit through an ad at the beginning of the video to get to your content, even if it's a stupid, unrelated one that UA-cam decides to throw in there. Money is an excellent motivator. Couple it with the desire you have for creating content, and you will hit a gold mine. One of my favorite quotes is something I heard from Ryan Serhant. He said "what got you HERE, might not get you THERE." That resonated loudly with me. Change in business can be a good, but very very scary thing. Ultimately, just be yourself and bring us along on the journey, and you will be just fine. We appreciate the content, and we all want to see you succeed.
if I had an idea on how to set up a super successful vlog , I would do it myself , I wouldn't tell you ! lol😁 I think I have watched every video on your other channel and now I will watch this one
The fever dreams are what makes your vlogs unique. I think if you put too much thought and effort into making them for the sake of views then you’ll likely make your true fans feel isolated and forgotten . Coming from a longtime fan of the LEO content who now enjoys your personality more than your insight about police situations
You're an interesting human so it's fun to watch your life 🤷🏻♂️ I say just keep doing your thing. Only change I would say is more consistent video drops
I just like watching you. Kinda relaxing. Putting "Hot Babe" in the title and actually showing some sure does help. That mexican looking long haired babe made me sweat instantly.
Love your stuff, from before after the change. Best thing is you opening up to just being you, however, you showed that you shopped at target in public..... lost hop lmao
I got to give you credit Donut. You lead a pretty awesome life and have a lot of fun and I wasn't a fan of your girlfriend but I think she is probably pretty decent or you wouldn't be with her. Good job bro.
@@ReanuKeevesAus I really don't care. I realize that I don't have much of a life of my own and it's easy to become jealous or judgemental of others so I am stepping away from commenting.
I love your vlogs are so cool. If you do a little more explanation behind what you are doing they would make more sense. You are doing an amazing job with everything though. You have such a cool life it’s awesome to see what y’all are doing.
Kamikoto knives are so good, they're made like katanas but opposite in a sense.. katana are hard steel on the outside and soft on the inside, kamikotos are soft on the outside and hard inside, helps keep the blade sharp.. p.s. I love any content you make Donut, just as long as it makes you happy making it, even the stuff that doesn't make you happy I do enjoy LOL but I also care about your mental strain.. anyway, MUCH LOVE

We'll watch whatever you post, Donut.
if I had an idea on how to set up a super successful vlog , I would do it myself , I wouldn't tell you ! lol😁 I think I have watched every video on your other channel and now I will watch this one
Just try to not worry about what some people think, everyone is different. You do you bud.
I love the extreme hard cut from a air fryer to shirtless Donut just panting and staring right into the camera
What video are you watching??? That ain’t in this one!
Have you seen Cart Narc's channel? Cart, as in shopping carts. PURE GOLD! ✌🏼
What brand are your sunglasses in the beginning of the vlog? Love all your videos! Keep up the great work.
The fever dreams are what makes your vlogs unique. I think if you put too much thought and effort into making them for the sake of views then you’ll likely make your true fans feel isolated and forgotten . Coming from a longtime fan of the LEO content who now enjoys your personality more than your insight about police situations
Love your videos
You're an interesting human so it's fun to watch your life 🤷🏻♂️ I say just keep doing your thing. Only change I would say is more consistent video drops
Love these!
Random vlogs it’s just different and I like it keep doing the fever dream of a vlog and I will always watch them
I just like watching you.
“We gonna go find bones”
“I found one”
😂😂😂
I got to give you credit Donut. You lead a pretty awesome life and have a lot of fun and I wasn't a fan of your girlfriend but I think she is probably pretty decent or you wouldn't be with her. Good job bro.
@@ReanuKeevesAus Mostly cuz Donut was pushing her in our faces and ....I better leave it there 😬
@@ReanuKeevesAus I really don't care. I realize that I don't have much of a life of my own and it's easy to become jealous or judgemental of others so I am stepping away from commenting.
@@WoodApe100 fair enough! Good on you for being a better person! Have a great day mate! Cheers!!
Love everything you're doing just watched the podcast with fat electrician lmao it was great 🤣🤣 keep up the amazing work
you know the deal , speak to Matt. You deserve this!!!!!
Keep the fever dream. I don't know why people complain about it, it's the best.
I am just waiting for the title "Hot Babe cleans Homeless Man's Skeleton."
Dude.. I've never been one to enjoy a vlog, but you're a funny fella. The sideboob helps. Lol

@@DonutVlogs And a frothy beverage.
Keep doin' whatcha do!
just do you donut. people come for you. the fever dreams are awesome
You’re entertaining to watch bro.
What are you British? Buggie? It’s a shopping cart. Don’t be that guy 😂 I say this with compassion lol
OMG the cats at the end was perfect!!!! CHEEEEESSSEEE
You have the right recipe. Being authentic is your bread and butter.
the first piece of Nick's content I ever saw was his review of the M1897 Trench Gun (or War Crime Stick) it made me love that shotgun even more
He’s a hilarious dude
Your stuff is unique, that's why I watch it... I actually want way more of the vlogs than the main channel... TBH I could easily watch OpD instead 👍
