Got myself a Norelco 12 with the carafe and dial-a-brew for $2 at an estate sale. Works well; it hits 200 degrees easy with the brew water. I appreciate its simplicity. Its looks are not at all out of place in a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances. I’ve wanted a Technivorm Moccamaster, but now I don’t think it may be that much better to be worth the price. I may also just sell my Bunn-O-Matic as this Norelco is just easier. EDIT: The Norelco is quite a powerful machine as it's rated for 1500 watts. Meanwhile, my Bunn is rated for 900 watts.
My parents had the Norelco coffee maker. Question: Since Norelco was the name Philips had to use in the United States for products, are these made by Philips? Norelco you ask? Yes, back in the late 1920's or so, Philco a major radio manufacture of the day, sued Philips due to the similarity of the names and thus North American Electric Company (Norelco) is the brand we got. That GE brewer, don't plug it in, while it has no timer, the models of the same era that did started a number of house fires and killed several people leading to a major recall. I like these older appliances as they are not cheapened like so much of the junk made in China. For my own coffee, I use a Chemex manual pour over unit. Easy to clean.
I'm surprised you didn't trip the circuit breaker as those pull a lot of power! I use full strength white vinegar to really get out the hard water scale
Seems to work great as a humidifier. Also, if you put it on a timer to brew in the morning, the noise it makes as it finishes the brew would easily wake you up, working as an alarm. Three in one with the Norelco.
I have the Norelco 12 coffee maker, but it came with the dial a brew basket and no lid. I'm looking for the brew basket and lid for it. I've looked on ebay, but only seen the whole machine or the dial a brew basket.
The carafes are placed in the incorrect machine, although the coffee basket is correctly placed. Thanks for the video!

These might be, if only they had a switch, the best vintage automatic drip machines. Enjoy!
Thank you
