Ava's House Gets Attacked | Justified Season 2 Episode 13 | Now Playing - Фільми й анімація
Mags was easily one of the most important characters of the entire series. And she is so perfect for her role. She can command a scene without over acting. Her performance leaves a memory even if she herself does not. I bet she has been a great mother in real life.
Best villain of the show, besides Boyd I guess.
@@vanillabadboy4469 Antagonist, but not a villain.
She was really good in the Americans too
Fine actress and series.
She got a career boost of Mags Bennett
I think I love Margo Martindale in EVERY role I've ever seen her in. An amazing actress.
A series were the baddies are also loveable. Well most of them anyway.
I have watched this entire series twice. When it starts to fade from my memory, I'll watch it again.
I come back to this scene often. Mags presented one of the greatest antagonists of the series, between Mags and Boyd this is what made Justified the greatest show on screen. Beautiful performances.
You know the series is great when accomplished, known actors hound their agents for a spot on that show. Look how many outstanding guests they had.
"It was already in the glass, not in the jar"
Mags was my second favorite antagonist next to Boyd. She was so well written and Ms Martindale was perfect for the role.
She'd never dream of spoiling the Whiskey in the Jar...'Apple Pie'...
One of my favorite characters in the whole show. Hands down. Just loved her through n through
The bennet family storyline was def the height of the series of course thanks to margos portrayal of a ruthless momma….it felt so epic
I don't know. Season 2 is great because of the Bennett storyline, but Season 3 was so much fun with Quarrels, and Season 4 with the Drew Thompson mystery, and then Season 6 with the Markham showdown. I just don't know...too much great came from this series! It's one of those that you wished never ended but you're glad it ended when it did!
Mags Bennett. Truly an amazing villain.
Some of the best writing, character development and actors of any show I have ever watched.
A great cop show requires great bad guys, and Justified had some of the best. the Bennett boys, Wynn Duffy, Nicki Augustine, Arlo, Robert Quarles, Limehouse, and of course, Boyd Crowder. And Margo just killed it in every scene she was ever in. God I loved this show.
Part of what I liked is the complexity and variety of the bad guys. Limehouse and Quarles are both criminals, but...I mean, give me Limehouse every day, you know?
I can’t really call Limehouse a bad guy. He’s certainly a criminal, but no more than Raylan.
Neal McDonough as Quarles had one of my favorite lines of the show.
"Oh shit, it's a piggy bank!!"
@@dw69376 McDonough is so great as a villain. He's the only reason "Red 2" and "Yellowstone Season 2" were as enjoyable as they were!
Quite possibly one of the most underrated actresses in American culture. Brilliant and menacing in almost everything she does. Mags and the Bennets were a great bunch of characters in the Justified universe and everyone played their part to absolute perfection.
She was great in The Americans.
Margo won a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for this role. Maybe before Justified, but hardly 'underrated' since.
She's not underrated though.
Do you not know what the word "underrated" means? She's quite well-known and acclaimed.
Her performance was one of the best I've seen on TV or movies.
The thing about this moment...you don't know if Mags is MORE homicidal or suicidal. Probably both. Ultimately, with the 2 kids she mostly cared about dying, and what she did to Loretta, she was primarily suicidal. But when this came out, it wasn''t clear that Raylan wasn't being given a fatal dose.
Season 2 of Justified has the best writing & acting I've seen on television. Just great stuff...
She’ll never leave Harlin alive.
Seriously the fact raylan and Boyd both ain't dead at the end was amazing to me. But that's why I loved the show
Never noticed at 0:52 you can see Mags eyeing the glass to make sure she didn’t give Raylan a poisoned one
Wrong. She wasn't eyeing it to be sure which one it was. The one with the poison already in it is the one she kept sitting upright in the lower cabinet that she took out and kept in her left hand, then set in front of her. The glass she gave Raylan was the one kept upside down on the shelf to keep the inside clean that she had in her right hand and set in front of him. She was just pausing for her "this is it" moment to think about how what she was about to do to herself was what she had done to so many others and to make her final decision to end herself.
She so deserved that Emmy!!! ❤
Mags Bennett is one of the great TV villains of all time
I never noticed that she grabs the glasses from two separate places before
You never keep the glass you laced with poison in the same place you keep your drinking glasses.
noticed it here, because when we were first watching, we didn't know what to look for.
@@theo-jamesmoulton2000 God forbid someone is visiting and gets thirsty...
This was one of the most powerful scenes in a series with many, many powerful scenes.
Gotta love character actress Margo Martindale
Brilliant actors,brilliant series.
I never usually comment or ask creators for anything, but please keep the justified content coming!
Yes, give us all the Justified clips!
It was already in the glass...
When I can't find a show that catches me, this, The Sopranos and the shield are three I always find myself wandering back to.
boardwalk empire
I just got done Sopranos and started this and its great
Boardwalk Empire is a lot of fun, and more recently, Succession is amazing. Also, a good overlooked show is Chuck.
I Just finished justified and started boardwalk empire and it is great
Am I the only one who's surprised she wouldn't have poisoned Raylan at this same time, as revenge for Dale and Coover?
I'm not surprised. She knew they went out for good reason. She's bad but she's not evil, that would be a curveball for her character.
I love how they did this that for a few moments you know one of them was poisoned, but you dunno who!
I thought that her and the actress that played the young girl were both brilliant in this series
The young actress was phenomenal. She's almost as good on the sitcom with Tim Allen.
Loretta was perfect. an it all comes full circle, and she will be the new Mags.
Loved her in The Americans, just as good in Justified. Bojack really nailed her being a legendary character actress.
That was an awesome scene…might have to look this show up
Damn what a series. To bad what they did to the 'new' one.
Yes She was 😎💯
This season and the one with the quareles character the best of the entire show
This actress was fantastic.
After all that, this is how the Bennett/Givens War ended.
Mags lost Doyle and Coover, she most likely didn't want to see her shit turned upside down.
She died by poison in Dexter as well.
Her kids were idiots. They couldn't carry in her legacy anyway, so best to go out like a boss
She could have ended Raylan just as easily, but she knew her ambitions were over and she wasn't petty. Maybe the best "Girl Boss" character ever made. Ruthless, strong, intelligent, even noble. Just a great character, also a great feminist character if you give a crap about that.
This is what people don't understand. This is the clash of two different rules.
Harlan's and The law. they all might be criminals but they all follow the rule of Harlan. Remember, Loretta said she teamed up with Boyd towards the end. and reminded him he is an upstanding member of Harlan.
Great story, but it hurt my soul...
Ohhh dewy
Season 2 was the best.
Anyone ever hear of Phelps Ky ? Where my Moma was from, her Daddy died in a mine cave-in in 1955 across the Tug River in Freeburn WVA in 1955.
Deep dark hills of Eastern Kentucky
Honestly one of the saddest antagonist deaths ever
She just wants to make flowers.
If you all like Margo Martindale's performance in this, you should watch the Left Overs, she's even more remarkable in that.
That's actually Ann Dowd. But she's excellent as well.
@@MacDavies01 Thanks so much for catching my error! Yes they are both wonderful, and either way people should watch the Left Overs, it's an amazing series, that went way to far below the radar. If you're a fan of shows like Lost, you'll really dig it.
Me too soon, I think. ☺
I dont understand her glass looked empty, what is in the glass that poisons her? Wouldnt we see the powder. Im just wondering.
what was the song?
Brad Paisley - you'll never leave Harlan alive
Patty Loveless’s rendition is haunting and beautiful ❤❤❤
Does she get the apple pie out of that lower cabinet? Or is that the special glass, and a clean one off the upper shelf for Raylan?
Poison glass was kept hiddin in the cabinet, regular glasses kept in sight on the upper shelf
@@ColoniaCroisant On watching it more closely, you are exactly correct. A little earlier in the scene, when Loretta is still in the room, she gets a small glass that has flowers painted on it (I think) but never uses it; it's not included in this clip, but I think it was from the upper shelf, and we'll never know if that glass was poisoned or not. When she offers Raylan a drink, she gets a glass out of the cabinet in her left hand (0:46), and takes one off the upper shelf with her right (0:49); she goes over to the table and sets down the shelf glass in her right hand closer to Raylan's side (0:58, we hear the glass hit the table and just get a glimpse of it as Raylan walks towards her), and she still has the cabinet glass in her left hand as she sits down (1:00).
Mags Bennet was my favorite female villain on here. Smart, devious, and deadly. Too bad her boys were such idiots. It would have been interesting to see them as smart and cunning as Mags going head to head with Boyd and Raylan.
A series were the baddies are also loveable. Well most of them anyway.
I thought for sure she poisoned him
What was the poison? I imagine it's hemlock and belladonna.
Always thought it strange that she chose suicide, as a character she seemed to merciless to give up so easily.
She was just beat. Broken down by her own choices. Ruined her empire, turned against the community, now universally hated and only feared and not respected. Throw in one boy killed, the other in jail, and the law closing in on her... Her race was run. Actually, it strikes me as very fitting that she'd go out solely on her own terms. Not let anyone else have a say in what she would be. Mags was one of so many great characters in that show.
My thought was that she left Raylan with his closest brush with death - and his fate was in her hands. That thought would haunt anyone.
@@bootsnthejeep don't forget raylan also killed her other son, coover. raylan survived that day only by the will of mags bennett.
@@donkeyears4704 AND this was right after Loretta found out Mags had killed her dad and Raylan had to talk her out of killing her for it.
It was all for family. Once family was gone, so was she.
Apple paaaaaaaa.
I wonder what poison she used.
The TV kind.
I thinks it actually mentioned I just can't for the life of me remember
