Tony that was a great spot, You have told me that story several times. In fact, we were working on my Colorblind Album at your Villa in Mallorca around the time he called you. I loved John's music. Thank you for sharing your story with VRP Rocks!

A humble, pioneering giant whose formation of The Blues Breakers meant that Eric Clapton among others was able to 'break through' thanks to his involvement with John! John Mayall was still performing live in his 80s and his zest for performing along with expertise was as strong as ever!! Please RIP John Mayall!

My heart is truly hurting. At the same time, I’m grateful that I knew John Mayall and appreciated him and his music & art.

I saw Mr.Mayall a few times in my home town of Wuppervalley Germany. I saw Walter Trout play with him. John was always willing to talk to his fans and sign autographs. John had no ...star..allures...a real nice down to earth guy. R.I.P John. ....now up there with Peter Green....once was a Bluesbreaker....and many more from his band that have sadly passed away.

John and I hung out a bit during the 1970s around the time he busted his knee. He'd been in a bit of a musical funk and hadn't been playing for some time, but sat down with me and jammed a bit at his house -- where I was made a member of the Brain Damage Club. Still have the "membership" card somewhere. He produced one of our early demos. Saw him last at the Coach House in San Juan Cap about four years ago. We waved at each other across the room. Now, of course, I wished I'd gotten up, crossed the room and said hello personally. C'est la vie...
