How to collect Kubernetes Metrics using Prometheus?

Is the prometheus deployment sharing the same namespace as the nginx app?
If we have 2 different apps running in a k8s cluster in different namespaces, does each namespace have to have a prometheus deployment?

No, you just have to run one instance of prometheus and it will scrape metrics from pods from all the namespaces
