He's coming from the point that he questions life's validity. He seems to believe that the struggles of life are not worth dealing with in a seemingly futile existence. He says he wishes he's a goat because life is simple for a goat. A goat doesn't ponder the point of living, or question its existence. A goat doesn't feel mental anguish, and get beaten down by life. A goat simply lives to survive and reproduce like most animals.
