Public colleges always get the short end of the stick in these rankings, although the WSJ's clientele doesn't care. Most of them wouldn't dare send their children to a state university.
Columbia is more of a powerhouse on Wall Street even NYU’s Stern school of business MBA grads have a bigger presence on Wall Street than Georgetown grads
They are strong - but they are not as strong as Georgetown for high finance. Top 3 are: UPenn, Harvard, then Georgetown. This has been studied in depth. Check out “Peak Frameworks - Investment Banking Target School Lost Using Data (2023).” - It says, “The three overall best schools for investment banking placement are: University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and Harvard University” You should also remember that, despite Georgetown being very strong in top finance roles, they are more well-known for their international relations and law/med school placement. Meanwhile, NYU is hyper focused on finance, and although they do quite well in finance, they still aren’t the overall best. Columbia is overall a better university than Georgetown, but isn’t as strong as Georgetown in finance or politics/IR. Nevertheless, they are all excellent universities!
A university doesn’t have to be a private school to be prestigious. There are many prestigious public universities across the u.s eg UCLA, university of Illinois Urbana-Champaign,College of William and Mary. University of Virginia, university of North Carolina at Chapel hill, Binghamton university, Stony Brook university, UC Davis
Don't put the list behind a paywall. Make it publicly available for parents to evaluate.
Excellent interview and report.
Salary has o be adjusted per metropolitan area

The University of Illinois has one of the best engineering schools in the country. It is also ranked second in the accounting curriculum.
