Having a canon mode for the story is something I actually wished for since Odyssey. So that is something cool I guess and the stealth looks actually really good.
For a series about reliving ancestral MEMORIES, it should have been absolutely present the moment they introduced choices with multiple endings! At least Odyssey has a book, and a kind redditor made a post about all of the canon choices according to the novel.
@yoavbenclaudia3073 I mean choices don't technically mean the memories or lore are broken. One can look at them as the thoughts the protagonists had while performing their work and the dialogue chosen would represent what they actually did. The Witcher allows the player to completely ignore the books and Geralt's character to do what they want.
It amazes me how when making Unity Ubisoft used professional parkour runners while making the game and since that game they haven't used any of it for other games.
Why don't you understand basic concept of architecture and how parkour came into existence? Unity took place in France, origin of parkour... There's a reason parkour didn't originate from Arab, UK, India, China, japanese etc... The architecture of France building was very helpful... You cannot have unity parkour in syndicate, valhalla, origin, odessey without buildings... It's basic common sense... Just look for dev interview of unity... I think I'm most of all hurt by the lack of social stealth. Not least of all because that is where the irl ninjas actually shone. Most of this MGS and Splinter Cell-ish "silent and invisible like a shadow skulking around at night" stuff originates from popular culture and kabuki theatre. (Trivia: The stereotypical ninja outfit was actually a kabuki theatre stagehand uniform; though we don't know who originated the trope, a "ninja" was often a stagehand who, all of a sudden, took out a blade, killed one of the other characters, and then went right back to being a stagehand again; an ingenious implementation of postmodernism.) And while I certainly don't mind the stealth of the pop-culture ninja, it would've been nice if, rather than getting rid of the social stealth, they had decided to elaborate upon it instead... Example: We've got "recruits" in this game. So imagine having a group of, say, 4 recruits dressed as carpenters or fishermen or Buddhist monks or street performers (disguises and locations determined by your own selected outfit) complete with some appropriate animations for immersion and to help sell the disguises. If you run in among the recruits, then Naoe join in on their activities. And, if you're still discovered, then your buddies help you out in the fight... Not only would it be more in line with proper ninja portrayal, and not only would it feel like you'd be getting more utility out of your recruits, your escape options could also influence how you plan to approach your missions. "Do I go into this wearing the monk outfit? Hm, the temple street is kinda far away and the target is right next to a river, so maybe the fisherman disguise would be better for disappearing after the hit?" Heck, it could even add another layer to your enemies: Thugs, thieves, and ashigaru? Fall for social stealth about as reliably as enemies from earlier AC titles. Proper samurai? Are more mindful and will see through a disguise if already alerted to your presence. Shinobi? They know everything about these social stealth tricks already; you're not going to fool them for even a second.
This is what I've been saying as well. At this point I already resign myself and accept that the series is no longer for me. Social stealth is what makes AC fun and unique to me.

When you think about it, social stealth is all about role-playing. And there are instances where you can choose diplomatic dialogues to avoid combat or gain access to the restricted area without feeling like an outsider which is a lot more freedom than in the past games where a lot of times you were forced into restricted areas and could only rely on traditional stealth. Sure, gameplay-wise it might not be as fun as hiding in the crowds, but to me social stealth was never about hiding in the crowds but rather not causing suspicion with your actions. In AC1 you can't hide in the crowds (aside from occasional Scholars) and yet there was plenty of social stealth. The only other game that comes to mind regarding 'Canon mode' is Mass Effect 3 - it has a setting that also lets you enjoy the story in a more 'cinematic' way without having to deal with the countless conversations that the game has. The stealth looks better than Origins so I'm sold. Could be improved but looks like an okay-ish attempt at satisfying everyone. About time they implemented shadow stealth! On a side note, Fromsoft, bring back Tenshu!
I might catch some flak for this, but I'm happy to see a female character that looks like a female. Eivor came off as kind of masculine, and body-wise, so did Kassandra.
21:29 Ubisoft confirmed that you cannot equip 2 ranged weapons and no melee - Yasuke is required to equip at least one melee weapon, with your choice of a ranged or melee for the secondary.
So I know you mentioned dual assassinations being back but is it only able to be triggered as an air assassination or can it be done when on foot as well? Sorry if you already answered this just wanted some clarification. Also just wanted to say it’s awesome you were able to see play an early copy! If anything you’re someone who seriously deserves this!! Thank you for all of the work you do and can’t wait to see more content from you in the future!!
I feel like most peoples problem with the rpgs was the lack of stealth, so if the stealth has improved enough than this may reach a much larger audience
honestly speaking i haven’t been so impressed with assassins creed as of late, even skipped out on mirage and watch a story break down so i knew what was going on, but even that game that tried to go back to the roots, i wasn’t that happy with. With shadows, although i dont prefer RPG in assassins creed, this to me is a nice blend of both formulas, in that i can actually progress in an RPG with stealth, rather go axe swinging like in valhalla, im actually intrigued by what Ubisoft is doing
Being an RPG is one thing. But its god damm clunky. Its been like 8 years and AC RPG games just become more and more clunky... That double assassination looks really bad.
It's weird that the game gives you the option to use allies like older AC games But you can't send Yasuke as Naomi as a distraction or Naomi as Yasuke as a stealth kill option Well, we'll see when the game releases
I loved odyssey, one of the best rpgs ive played. Certainly not your classic AC style of game, but great nonetheless, and that same studio made shadows, so im kinda hopeful for this one.
I am really interested in seeing how Naoe and Basim end up comparing in your ranking videos as two of the fastest Assassins in the series (with Naoe sounding to be canonically and gameplay wise faster) that both sound like takes place early in their Assassin Careers in their individual games while I’m sure Basim has a big jump combat wise in Valhalla. It’d be extra interesting if that Mirage DLC ends up being true and we get Basim more towards his peak with both Loki memories and more of his own experiences. However I loved Unity, Syndicate and Black Flag too (never played the older games) and Mirage was an amazing attempt to recreate these type of AC games. So I do hope they will make another like Mirage one at some point
Glad to see you back Mentor 😉
welcome back mentor
nah an embargo had to have just got lifted cuz everyone posting their preview stuff at the same time😭
Yup access media and I promise you they signed some saying that they ARE NOT partaking in access media which is complete fkn bullshit. These simps are 🤮 imagine selling your soul for views and likes. 😂
Ubislop is scared that we won’t buy the game so they’re paying and allowing assassins creed content creators to showcase their game lol.
Calling it now. "Scout Boost packs" will be sold in store 😂😂😂
“The exaggerated swagger of a feudal Japan shinobi”? So the vibes ARE there!
Love your video and keep up the great work you are awesome and I hope this game is good
The stealth looks better than Origins so I'm sold. Could be improved but looks like an okay-ish attempt at satisfying everyone. About time they implemented shadow stealth! On a side note, Fromsoft, bring back Tenshu!
Solid review. Thankyou
Both the stealth and darker story are what I've been looking for.
the combat clip you showed is so cool ngl
I might catch some flak for this, but I'm happy to see a female character that looks like a female. Eivor came off as kind of masculine, and body-wise, so did Kassandra.
i cant wait until this game releases!
It seems cool.. Welcome back
21:29 Ubisoft confirmed that you cannot equip 2 ranged weapons and no melee - Yasuke is required to equip at least one melee weapon, with your choice of a ranged or melee for the secondary.
happy you’re back man
So I know you mentioned dual assassinations being back but is it only able to be triggered as an air assassination or can it be done when on foot as well? Sorry if you already answered this just wanted some clarification. Also just wanted to say it’s awesome you were able to see play an early copy! If anything you’re someone who seriously deserves this!! Thank you for all of the work you do and can’t wait to see more content from you in the future!!
I feel like most peoples problem with the rpgs was the lack of stealth, so if the stealth has improved enough than this may reach a much larger audience
That and the enemies with health bars that can survive a dozen stabs with a sword.
Ubisoft is getting bought out in 2025
Why are so many of you needle d!cks so intent on trolling this game?
Whatever happens to Ubisoft, doesn't matter unless you work there.
Get a hobby.
Love both old snd new assassins creed games cant wait
Finally, Senu soul can rest with Bayek after all these years of being the best governemental drone ever created.
Love you Master Assassin, so happy your back :)
The goat has returned
Glad to see you back on AC.
Welcome back
1:18
I'm out
honestly speaking i haven’t been so impressed with assassins creed as of late, even skipped out on mirage and watch a story break down so i knew what was going on, but even that game that tried to go back to the roots, i wasn’t that happy with. With shadows, although i dont prefer RPG in assassins creed, this to me is a nice blend of both formulas, in that i can actually progress in an RPG with stealth, rather go axe swinging like in valhalla, im actually intrigued by what Ubisoft is doing
I think this is the first AC attempting to focus more on traditional stealth, like MGS or Splinter Cell, over the series original social stealth core.
Being an RPG is one thing. But its god damm clunky. Its been like 8 years and AC RPG games just become more and more clunky... That double assassination looks really bad.
Welcome back mate!
20:20 I was thinking of Connor as u were saying that ahah
well i guess i will have to wait for the ac 1 remake
THATS cool you got to play early
It's weird that the game gives you the option to use allies like older AC games
But you can't send Yasuke as Naomi as a distraction or Naomi as Yasuke as a stealth kill option
Well, we'll see when the game releases
THE ASSASSIN IS BACK
Welcome back master
I loved odyssey, one of the best rpgs ive played. Certainly not your classic AC style of game, but great nonetheless, and that same studio made shadows, so im kinda hopeful for this one.
I love Odyssey. I hope it’s as good.
Do you have any initial thoughts on the matter?
bro finally came back
