The stopstart has got to be the worst thing about the car , it’s dangerous too especially at uphill junctions, as it doesn’t re start as you come off the brake pedal, it only starts as you hit the accelerator, this surprisingly takes more seconds than is safe .
I find the start/stop annoyingly abrupt on my early L494. It will switch the engine off as soon as the wheels stop rotating. Not particularly helpful when manoeuvring into a parking spot or shuffling a trailer around. A couple of seconds grace of it waiting to see if I select reverse or have finished creeping forwards would be a great help. No idea if the later cars are similarly affected or if there is a dealer update available.
TPMS also needs an off-road mode. If driving in Sand and you have selected Sand mode - I have also deflated the tyres, I don't need TPMS telling me I have low pressure I know. I would like a lower limit that warms me if it goes below a set limit for different off-road modes. Also agree with not always defaulting to comfort mode - just another thing you need to remember to do each time you restart.
hi. do you know if there is a CCF line that activate rear lights with DRL on( just driving in auto)? Here in Denmark it is mandated by law, but we cant find any line in the ccf that changes that. on the older LR we had Scandinavian driving lights :) .
I can view and edit the CCF on my 2019 Discovery 5 using my IID tool. But i can only see an option to disable stop/start completely, and not set it remember its last position. Does Pathfinder offer this option on a D5?
Simon - I love your investigations into how the new Land Rovers software operate. I have a 2023 Defender D300 and want to fit a long range fuel tank (New Defender Mods sell a 150 lt replacement tank). One thing I don't like is that the fuel calculation are all based on the standard size tank. Do you know if the there is a parameter in the CCF files to change the tank size to 150 lts so the car can calculate the distance to empty etc?
@@L663 I think you may be doing the community a disservice in not directly talking about this. The limited amount of reputable information and the "shady" looking websites selling solutions is more likely putting us at a greater risk in being scammed. Totally accept the "proceed at your own risk" disclaimer, but this community is woefully lacking information (especially compared to the BMW community in reprogramming those cars).
I turn it off every time I get into the vehicle now. It can be a second or two slow to restart at times, and once it even failed to restart and I had to do a full start cycle. Luckily no traffic behind me but super dangerous. Since then I just turn it off religiously as can't trust it. This is my only pain point with the car, love it otherwise.
I just pull the black plug at the battery under the drivers seat, the stopstart is permanently off . Ive ran mine for 12 months like this , the only downside i found was that i lost the heated steering wheel. Everything else works
both start/stop and cornering lighs cannot be set otherwise by the simple car owner, they are on by default... that's terribly annoying! I could maliciously guess this is a brand choice to increase the possibility the owner has to buy spare parts because of the higher consumption of components....

Thank you very much, you're a legend! Just saved 100 euro with your help... and I spent them on the new version of the CCF editor from Reg:)
Which CCF editor did you purchase? can you share a link.

Yes we keep hoping Land Rover will listen to our comments.... but not much progress so far !
Digging the safari attire, looks very fetching.
hello, interesting video, can you tell me which line of code we need to modify for the configurable start/stop? thank you

Looking at the CCF file for my discovery sport and I can see the option to change tank size.
anyone know what software he used to access the Defender CCF file with the ODB2 port? Thank you.
I will leave this open to see whats out there - most people who know this keep it secret..

@@L663 Why be so damn coy? Just tell us how to do it.
CCF tools 4.9 is the latest. You would need a JLR diagnostic to work along side it
Wow, way late to the party! Been a flying type of day lol
Any plan on bigger nav screen upgrade Vulkan Automotive?
I think I can do this but the screens are expensive !
would be nice to have screenshot of start/stop menu option!!!!
it's there, just watch the video once again, and try to understand the idea of last user settings saving;)
Every defender has adaptive cruise control. Needs to be programmed people offer to do it online.

Yes it can be tricky at times but generally seems to work ok - not sure about turbo heat build up and general engine wear ...
Hi - I have found a quick way to do this on the new software update
@@L663 please tell me you're serious 🙂🙏
@@salient244 Well the diamond "Favourites" button can bow be programmed to turn off start stop - so that will make it a bit easier ?

JLR Pathfinder?
You can upload the new CCF file with Pathfinder but you need a tool to edit the CCF file.
@@L663 I know you don't want to give the specifics, but can you give us a hint of what you changed for enabling ACC?
@@L663 Jesus Christ just tell us what the fuck it is
Messing around with CCFs is a very good way to brick your car if you don't know what you're doing
Thanks for letting me know !
Start/stop due to environmental reasons yet you can remote start engine for up to 30mins to heat or cool vehicle!
You can also accelerate heavily or run the AC. Running your car for 30mins is optional
Yep stupidity at its finest!

They can be turned off / on in the CCF files but this would be a global setting so not selectable while in use

I wish you weren't being so coy, and just tell us how to do it....
If you understood the whole story you would understand.... Land Rovers legal dept ....
