    Canne De Combat, France
Canne De Combat is believed to have its roots in 19th-century France when the use of canes or walking sticks was prevalent among citizens. It evolved as a form of self-defense and eventually became a sport.

Savate is so massively overlooked, good to learn about other French styles of fighting

Getting somewhat older, I like the concept of fighting with a cane. A walking stick or reenforced umbrella is something you can carry around everywhere without much suspicion. What I didn't like too much was the jumping around and pirouetting, exposing your back.

There is MANY styles of fighting. Some people love to jump and fly around and other ones (like me) prefere to have their two feet on the ground and play more defensively and aggressively. Some are really fast, others very slow. It's good for kids and older people. Everybody can practice this sport

Canne de Combat represents a beautiful connection between the past and the present. Its historical roots in French self-defense are evident in the techniques, while its evolution into a sport showcases the adaptability of martial arts.

Super work again Muham. Thank you for being so curious and open to so many different styles and presenting an art form that lacks media representation 🙏🔥🥊

excellent video! I feel that Lacanne is truly a hidden gem with its grace, martial nature, precision and mobility. I like the history given, I always understood that Lacanne and Savate were intertwined, and like all martial arts, weapons are extensions of the body and help mastery of the art. The segments of La baton at the end were awesome also! I would love to see more content like this!

Just a small correction here: la canne are two separate words, la meaning "the" in its feminine form (canne being a feminine word in french) ;-).

Why does a video dedicated to the federal cane, called the "combat cane", make the system invented by Maurice Sarry appear to be a traditional when this system is precisely in rupture with all the functional and non-sporting systems which preceded him and and strangely resemble the fights in Star Wars, the film having just been released (1977) when he published his method (1978)
Why is such a video illustrated with exchanges of Master Lafond and Charlemont?
Lafond was the last authentic traditional French master who refused to give in to Americanization (savate becoming a sport and gradually kick boxing) and the Japaneseization (establishment of karate in France by savate practitioners wanting to ride the Asian wave of the time.) to continue to keep a tradition based on principles alive and evolving.
The comments made are true and reasonable but the way it is presented to us is misleading.
Our traditional practices have almost completely disappeared and you are choosing to replace them in the public eye with a sport that has almost nothing to do with what we find in the old treaties. (and this also applies to French boxing which is no longer traditional Savate and fencing, the "French Weapons Academy" preferring to teach the “lightsaber”… rather than traditional cane techniques.)
Will we, one day, free ourselves from the toxic legacy of the boomers? Maybe after World war 3...

Tu as bien la critique facile, ça c’est toxique. Dommage! Rien ne t’empêche de t’y mettre pour représenter l’image de la canne que tu veux voir.
