I'm about to go on every cinecom and premiere pro basics video and leave a like... You guys deserve it together with a world of gratitude. I've learned premiere, and after effects for so long from you that I need to show how much I apreciate you! Stay creative and strong, you got this!
I have an ok laptop but I usually have to edit around 3 hours of footage for my client. I found out about proxies like 2 months ago and they are extremely helpful!
That proxy tip was great. The duplicate one is good too but I like to work in multiple sequences so that I don't clutter my main sequence. I'll have the clips created in a sequence, then duplicate it in the same way, then drag that sequence to the main sequence timeline. This allows me to keep less video and audio timelines open and eliminates clutter. Not really a performance tip but It can help people who get overwhelmed easily.
So, you like using multiple sequences so that you can drag and drop, using one (or more) sequence as rough edit, and one for the (hopefully, lol) final edit/sequence? That's what I've been doing, but sometimes resizing panels doesn't play well with others?!
Hello, things must be said very clearly. Making proxies from 4K rushes of 60 to 100 GB each (theater recording for example) takes a lot of time; that's several hours (5 to 7 hours), without giving you the impression that it's a very quick thing... That's not true; postproduction work is extremely slow... it starts off badly using a MacBook Pro laptop (year 2020) for example, on which Premiere is less efficient than on a comparable laptop PC. To be honest, I shoot with Sony FX3, Sony A7RV and Panasonic GH6. We can optimize this post-production part if we are lucky enough to have a high-performance PC tower; there, it goes faster. Your whole team does a good job, interesting to watch; it's important that you know this !!! Bravo
4k 120fps slowed down, plays perfectly. 4k 120fps speed ramped, premiere explodes. as soon as you add a speed ramp, even if its 1% change of speed for .001 of a second premiere says no way. what am i missing?
to my knowledge: any time you add a speed change it needs to render the files. see if there is a red line above the clip youre working on. If it is there, go to Sequence and hit Render all clips (or render selection if you have that area of the timeline selected), should play back smoothly after that. but keep in mind its gonna be choppy again if you have to change the speed again. All that being said, 4k 120fps could also just be taxing your system. Id recommend doing the Proxy trick in this video if you havent already. And also apologies if you knew any of this already, not sure what all youve tried
@@mfkrwill appreciate the reply, i have tried all of that with no luck. It doesn’t feel like a performance issue (like the computer) it feels like a premiere issue but I’m not sure. I did find another video on proxies that seemed to be for 120fps specially but i lost it before i had a chance to watch it. I need to go find it again
@@mfkrwill i found the video, had to create all sorts of presets to essentially make a 120fps specific proxy, and now it works perfectly. i just quit using 120fps because it was too frustrating. now i can use it again. so this video indirectly helped me a ton haha
Glad to see you back jordy !! But hey I need to know if i use sony camera files to create proxies so can we create into Prores or H.264 which would be better ?
I will definitely need to try this!! Thanks for that 😍 are there any more tips/settings for MacBook users? I have a M2 but still Prpro has trouble sometimes to playback the footage with effects smoothly 😩
I have a 3080ti and 5950x and Premiere Pro still can’t play a photo with Gaussian blur or a clip I sped up smoothly.. i’ll try everything in this video but still don’t know how much hope there is lol
Hey Jordy, I was wondering, I have 2 of those NVME M.2 drives, one with all my video clips on and another with the OS and program install data on (my boot drive). Would it still be beneficial to put the cache on my boot drive rather than the drive with my videos?
Hello thank you for this channel. I have a question for u . If I have a mask and need to make father from one size up or down left or right In after effects I can do it . Can I do it in premier
Currently I'm editing with 4K footage and I even created Prores Medium proxy but still premiere is laging and playback is not smooth. I'm also editing on 4K sequence.
Premiere is not using the full potential of my Apu, I have ryzen 5 5600g but during exporting it only use 8%-10% cpu and 2% gpu. I have tried everything hardware encoding and everything. Do someone have a solution
Hey Jordy! I have a dedicated 2gb quadro p620 gpu in my pc but premiere choose to go with the builtin intel 4600 and shows the display driver not supported error. I have checked all the youtube and have used many tricks but nothings working for me . Even though all the drivers are latest. Pls tell me how can i overcome this....😪😪😪
Hey Jordy, in the Manage 3D settings panel, i dont have the Trilinear optimization and Anisotropic sample optimization, is that okay for me to speed up my Premiere, Im using a quadro RTX A4000 Thanks !! Great video as always

would these setting work for After Effects as well?
Great video jordy
Nothing can help make Premiere run better... except for an online competitor.
Hey Jordy! Welcome back ❤
Hi Carl :)
Always after watching every video my desire to make new video is much bigger. Thank you guys. You are true inspiration
Could you advice something like this but also for After Effects?
Great help tbh❤

Love you man your video is great

When I put mogrt file downloaded from envato, premiere pro crashes, any solution?
THanks prof

Ok, Jordy, dumb question. I don't have an Nvidia graphics card. I have an Intel graphics card. Do you have the way to set the 3D graphics on that?
Currently I'm editing with 4K footage and I even created Prores Medium proxy but still premiere is laging and playback is not smooth. I'm also editing on 4K sequence.
