sadly those boats are gone and Stranraer port is abandoned.
I know it's not practical because of the cost of dredging the loch but it's such a shame the ships don't run as far as Stranraer any more, the rail link is wasted for the future.
it's also kinda annoying as you have to book a taxi.
That is sad news indeed. Does the ferry run from another location now and why was it closed down ?
@@charlie1872 aye it sails from Cairnryan, further up the loch. Foot passengers can get a bus to Ayr and then onward rail connections. P&O ran from Cairnryan for many years now but Stena kept the old Sealink route down Loch Ryan to Stranraer and the railhead there, right at the terminal.
