BUSTED: Undercover police operation nabs 4 suspects in candle-stealing scheme

- NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C (WCIV) - A two-day undercover operation at Northwoods Mall busted a shoplifting ring, resulting in four arrests, according to the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD).
The operation was put into action on July second and third and detectives were able to prove 27 different thefts worth over $17,000 in stolen items.

I remember two casually dressed white women with two strollers went into the kids section and he told me to stop watching them and watch a group of black ladies in the women’s section. Everyone of the black ladies made a purchase but the two white women just walked out. I went back into the kids section about 5 mins later and those two women stole 10 pairs of infant shoes.
Loss prevention estimated we had about $3100 in merchandise stolen in our first year. Two weeks after that announcement my white supervisor was fired after they realized he had stolen more than $10K from the night deposits over that same year.
Crime has no color and neither does ignorance.

Similar to Florida, this past March 2024, where they signed an Anti-Retail Theft law, EVERY Mayor, Senator, Representative MUST take IMMEDIATE action to protect the stores and their employees. These people should be jailed immediately with a FELONY. Too many stores are closing and employees are losing their jobs, in many communities, where these people don't even live, due to the constant retail theft by these culprits. The police have their hands tied without an active State Law in place to abolish criminal shoplifters and constant retail theft. Working Taxpayers should write to their State representatives to enact a very robust Anti-Retail Theft law with urgency.
