Which RAV4 is faster? Let's find out!
Both cars are 1997 Toyota RAV4.
The purple one has a 3S-GTE engine, with a turbo and 260 horsepower.
The silver one has the stock 3S-FE engine, no turbo, and 120 horsepower. - Авто та транспорт

Definitely need stiffer suspension for the extra power, but I love it!
I'm looking at 98 Rav 4, AWD automatic with less than 50k miles, asking $9,000 - great condition with some speed sensor engine code errors.
Maybe I've watched too much Scotty Kilmer, but he's AWD for the maintenance issues/extra weight/less MPG. Any thoughts? Love your videos!
The automatic are easy to find parts for however the manuals I've heard handled 550hp without issues

Hey brother, I just bought a 1998 RAV4 all wheel drive and the front subframe is severely rusted and I would like to change it but cannot find very much information on it. Could you do a video on this or point me toward some information? Thank you and I love your videos

If the frame has holes, there are 2 options: replace the car, or try to weld in some new metal. Either way, you're in for a lot of work.
My 1995 rav with a cool I take and a 2.4 gear box gives the 3s a run ....

Off the line it looks almost dead even. More hp model definitely needs help sticking at the start then it would be no contest.

What if the 2dr get the 3SGTE??? Lighter + extra power = fast CUV? Up the power to 300hp it could be a faster car with light body.
The 2 door RAV4 is a little lighter than the 4 door, but with the short wheelbase and the lift kit, it's unstable at high speed. It's scary to drive the car over 70mph. Faster acceleration would be fun, but having a higher top speed would be pointless.

Thought there would be more of a difference at launch
My 3sgte doesn’t hit boost until 2800rpm so even launching at 4600 in this video bogs below boost for a second.
Turbo lag
Too much grip not enough power, they're just gnashing their gears and clutches for nothing. It's safer for the driver and the car to do a drag from a 50 roll. If either of these guys (specifically the gte owner) keep driving like that they're gonna have to deal with replacing the clutch and head gasket.
@@tophatvideosinc.5858 not sure where you’re getting headgasket from launches, it ain’t no Subaru. It’s already got arp head studs and a new mls gasket set. Also yeah I’m kinda trying to find a reason to turn the engine 90 and run it rwd with a beefier trans.

From a dig, all you're managing to do is ruin the clutch and gears. These cars aren't meant for that kind of abuse, it's too much grip and not enough power. Even when swapped.
You realize they share most drivetrain components with the gt-four, they aren’t as fragile as people think they are. Handling the gte fine with almost 300k on Drivetrain. Not like I launch the thing daily either, was for the entertainment of UA-cam.
@@BudgetBuildBureau speaking of gt4s you reckon with a lighter chasis these would take off, im doing reaserch to find a viable awd swap for my celica.

i will take take any naturally aspirated engine car any time of day than their supercharged or tuborcharged counterparts.
