Trolling is always an option. Winter is better. Water is cleaner.

Sure are.
A bit of a wobble boarding the vessel but then fishing commenced. Bream was the target fish to be followed by Flathead. Wayne hooked onto something that had the makings of a hernia. But it got off. He compensated for the loss by catching the smallest Flathead in the world. He remedied that shortly thereafter by catching a quality bream. His fishing companions manoeuvred around the bow of the boat & landed a sizeable flathead of around 65cm. Wayne was quite happy to be up the creek without strong wind. Wayne christened a Bream "Bugger" & released it lamenting it was not a Flathead. Has Wayne tried SPF Ducktail soft plastics? A nice Flathead finished the session & it reached a happy conclusion. No mention of any wobbling during disembarking so assume it occurred without incident. Thanks for sharing :)

I haven’t chased them there. Can get them at Sandstone Point.

Hi Wayne, me and the wife fished Donnybrook area today, wind was terrible and we couldn't drift with tide going out and wind blowing from south, we then worked out that if we got in closer to the exposed banks that we would go with the wind along the north-south exposed banks, we ended up with 13 flathead best was 57cm, 5 for me on plastics and 8 for my wife who uses whitebait placed on a 3 hook ganged rig of no 2 hooks, she lifts the bait 60 cm off the bottom every 15 seconds or so as we drift, I usually catch more than her but lately she has been giving me a hiding.

That first thing you hooked up to next to the jetty would've 90% chance been a stingray...I can tell you cause that's my old man's jetty and pontoon boat in front of you guys and I used to grow up throwing makeshift spears at them with my brother 😂

Grant Daniell - Solo Performer I’ve never heard of a ray taking an artificial bait, and the fact it launched isn’t rays usual behaviour in every one I’ve caught. I was thinking more grouper.
