I believe Ben has stated that this song is about his struggle with alcoholism. This makes so much sense to me because it seems that this song represents two versions of himself. One that wants to be free and the other who is comfortable being a slave to alcohol. Ultimately concluding in the line “holding the hand that hold me down.” Which represents giving in to the temptation. Juxtaposed with “I forgive you, forget you. The end.” Which represents an overcoming of addiction and forgiveness of his former self. The metaphor of a bad relationship is perfect. Guy on the right was spot on at the end! Absolutely beautiful lyrics.
Such a good reaction! To answer your question about the meaning of the song, "Without You" is the eleventh and last song from Breaking Benjamin’s fourth full-length studio album, Dear Agony, released on September 29, 2009. This song deals with finally acknowledging what you have done wrong and realizing that you need to fight to make everything the way it should be. Ben realized his alcohol addiction made him a broken man and is willing to fight his alter ego (the person who loves alcohol) to be a better man. I hope this helps you understand the song a bit better. I can’t wait to see your next video.
Thank you for the explanation! It is a pretty powerful message to realize you are not who you need to be and need to fight to not stay broken and overcome what sets you back in life.
This is probably my favorite song of theirs. It's hard to say if it's about a toxic relationship or directed to God. I think it's a song to himself. He has to forgive his old self and his toxic self destructive behaviors in order to move on and be a better person. Holding the hand that holds me down could be a relationship with a person or lover, but i think its a reference to addiction.
Yeah, and he's said himself that he's used alcohol as a crutch to write music. This album is the first he's written 100% sober up until that point. I also think it's probably him introspecting and talking to himself. Mainly because of the lines like "I am with you forever, the end.)
The song is about Benjamin Burnley’s alcoholism. He got wet brain syndrome from drinking and almost died. Yet despite that, he still feels like he can’t face life without it.
Powerful lyric. I don't have firsthand experience, but I have heard from family members who quit smoking/drinking that the urge really does stay with them for life unfortunately. Glad Ben has the perseverance to continue to fight that urge for a better life
Awesome there’s finally another reaction video to this song. I’ve said this in a comment before that this song is what got me into the band and years later I’d say it’s still my favorite of theirs. From the beginning kicking down the door to the beautiful ending, there’s not one moment to me that feels wasted. It’s such a hidden gem and Im glad you guys liked it. Keep up the work my guys! 👍
Loved this! Great song and great reaction as always guys! Love the matching shirts you guys look amazing! Also have you heard of Journey before? One of my favorite bands of all time, like the songs ‘Faithfully, Open Arms, etc’. Keep it up!!
Happy you enjoyed, thanks for watching!! Thank you for the complement! We have a lot of fun deciding which matching top to wear 😂. I have not heard Journey before, but showing Rob this comment he got really excited and said they are classic. Will add 'Faithfully, Open Arms' and any other songs by them Rob suggests to the wheel!
@@x2zchat Love it! I only watch a total of 3 reactors, 2 of which were dedicated specifically to The Walking Dead reactions, you guys are the only ones I watch that does a bunch of reactions. Keep it up, both of your break downs and dialogues are awesome. Journey is by far my favorite. Keep it up!!
Another great BB reaction video guys! Lovin' your 'end of video/sign off' tune as well! Another song recommendation for you is "Play With Me" from the band Extreme. I have lots of songs suggestions from them but I don't want to overwhelm you or break the 'Wheel of Chance Reactions'! As Rob would say "Turn it up! Let me hear it!" 😂
Thanks for watching! Glad you love our sign off outro tune 😁. Added the song to the list! If there is a limit to breaking the wheel, we luckily haven't hit it yet 😂

By saying “the fight never ends”, Ben refers to his past as an alcoholic. The urge to drink never goes away.

Can't live with or without someone. The fighting never ends but can't face the dark without you. "Holding the hand that holds me down.
Powerful words. I like that the double meaning can apply both to volatile relationships and addiction.
@@x2zchat yeah exactly, knowing him he wrote it to sound like a girl as a metaphor for addiction.

Glad you enjoyed! This was definitely a really good one and the way the instrumentals gradually settled at the end was perfect :)

@@xxD3Vxx That is super awesome to hear!! We are honored that we are one of the main reaction channels you watch, and that you enjoy our dialogue!

Great idea with the wheel!
Thank you! We figured it would be a fun and fair way of choosing everyone's song suggestions 😁
I'm happy to see the band RED on the wheel! If you haven't got their song 'Fight Inside' on there, you definitely should.
Didn't have this one on the wheel, added now!
bring music reactions back!!! 😂
sadly the lyrics on this video aren’t accurate, Great reaction!
Yeah I've noticed several of these older BB lyric videos have wrong words and/or typos... 🤔
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah I am surprised how many of these lyric videos are incorrect, some of them have more views than the original song...
