    I just lost my dad. 7/16/22. My best friend. My everything. My protector. He showed me Chris’s music, and showed me this exact song with meaning. This song will forever live with me in his memories. It brings me tears to my eyes every time I listen to it but can’t quit playing it. RIP POPS. I love you man. You are know up there with Chris. “I never wanted to write these words down for you, with pages of phrases of things we’ll never do, so I blow out he candle and put you to bed. Say hello to Heaven.” This song will forever live with me. I will see you soon Big Dog….

    I don't know why, but this one has been tougher to swallow than others. All of the bands he was in, all the words he wrote, all the music he made, it was unique and incredible in its own way. I feel like we're watching a breed of musicians dying off with no one in the industry to keep rock and roll alive as legends like Chris, Chuck Berry and Gregg Alllman have done. Nevertheless, wherever you are, keep rocking, legends never die
    RIP Chris Cornell

    I'm 55 and hopefully will be 56 in July. I turned 30 in 1992 and remember the Grunge Era.What i remember back in the day was this and other was instant classics.I remember the Classic rock stations playing these songs and it was because the finally these bands GOT IT!! They played it and older and young GOT IT. I can put these in the same playlist with 60's,70, and 80.s and still get chills whenever i hear them through my headphpnes.I don't know am i the only one that feels this way?

    This is probably my favorite song of all time. It does the one thing that's important for any song to do, and does it so very well. Theres not a person on the planet that can't connect to this song on a deep, emotional, even spiritual level. It just connects.. No matter who you are, what style of music you like, how old you are, where you come from, none of it matters. It's just such a distilled, musical, re-creation of the human experience. Life, Love, Friendship, Brotherhood, Loss, Hurt, everything it is to be human. Chris Cornell deserves much more notariety than even what he has... The guy was just such a beautiful singer and songwriter, such a creative genius. This song always resonated with me, but since his death, I can't even listen to it without crying. But I don't let that stop me lol.

    I just was listening to this song with my best friend and ex lover, were both alcoholics and were very close. The last person I hung out with. We fought a lot. We loved a lot. He took his own life last week & idk how to handle it. We were just dancing to this song recently. I love you Chris. I’m sorry, I need to get sober. We both dealt with a lot of pain so I thought he’d relate to this but I never knew he’d be gone & leave me. Our last words weren’t so kind to eachother. It’s forever going to haunt me. I miss you so much I am heartbroken

    And to think...
    If we never got Chris Cornell, we'd never have Temple of the Dog, and if we never got Temple of the Dog, we'd never have Pearl Jam. If we never got Pearl Jam we'd never have Nirvana, and musical history would not have been made the way it was. One thing led to another all because of Chris Cornell writing a tribute song to a fallen friend.
    This is one of the most beautiful cause and effect scenarios I've ever thought of and every time I hear this song now I'm reminded of Chris Cornell's contribution to Rock music. RIP sir. You will be forever missed.

      Wolfhound wait how does nirvana depend on pearl jam?

    • @wolfhound7919
      @wolfhound7919 5 років тому

      Saying "we'd never have Nirvana" is a drastic oversimplification because Nirvana came first as a band, But... here's my explanation. Cobain didn't like being lumped together with Pearl Jam on media outlets like MTV and this negative attention brought his own band into the spotlight right before the release of Nevermind. So what I mean by my original statement is that Nirvana's success is not due to Pearl Jam but more a result of the band bringing the grunge scene into the spotlight on MTV and other outlets instead of just an Indi-rock movement.
      (Nirvana's first album was indi while Nevermind was not.)

    • @wolfhound7919
      @wolfhound7919 5 років тому

      And for the record, in my opinion it is Nirvana who made the musical history. Pearl Jam was great but Nirvana was the superior of the two bands, IMHO.
