as a second gen daughter to asian parents, your reflections about wanting to gift things to your parents and them having some resistance to it hits very much at home for me. i think spending time away from my family has really made me appreciate the time with them even more and recognize how human they are; it also pushes me to work even harder to one day support them and gift them the luxuries they couldn't have when they were my age :') anyway lemme stop being sappy loll! I loved your mom's sweater collection haha and thank you for documenting persi's new friendship with the neighborhood cat TT made me laugh so much i wonder what they were conversing about

Happy the road trip with Persi went well. When we moved from NJ to IN we took our cat and she was pretty quiet for the most part. Every now and then she'd let out a huge howl and scare us. 😂 ~ It's so nice being with family during the holidays. You & your mom wearing the sweaters and posing reminds me of my mom & I. So cute. as a local nearby Pasadena and learning that you went to the art school there, really inspires me to pursue my dreams. I admire your work and work effort. My goal is to go back to school and hopefully to that one 🥹 thanks for sharing your journey 🖤 if you’re still in LA, you should visit shorthand and crush and touch! it’s abt 15 min away from Pasadena. ✨ enjoy your holidays!

I used to travel with my cat when she was younger, it was a really good decision. It helped her be social and comfortable with strangers and new places. I didn't need to travel with my second cat and he's way less sociable. Definitely keep traveling with her and socializing her it's so nice to have a social kitty. She even used to like car rides kind of, but we don't travel much anymore so she doesn't love the car anymore. Your mom's cooking looks amazing. I have a prof who's from Singapore and I mentioned one of our local restaurants here that I really like (It's Korean) and he said 'no it's too much like home cooked food, when I go out I want to eat restaurant food!' (Which I get too) but it made me excited that any time I go there, it's like eating authentic home-cooked food from mom. That's what I really want to experience! (Especially when I'm not sure what's "authentic" and what's "americanized", because I'm never sure!)
yeah, since I got her as an older cat she definitely did not have experience with anything out of her comfort zone till she met me. But I really want her to explore with me so I'll keep introducing her to new things little by little~ I was just talking to my dad recently about how everytime I want to drink soup I go out to buy it (cause I don't make soup myself often), but everytime I drink bought soup it never hits like the homecooked stuff. I would say any soup that is made with love is very authentic :)
there's definitely something special about going through mum's closet as an adult, it makes me feel like a naughty child yet i'm allowed to do it now :D

Me, Percy as in Persimmon" "Why you here, you new" That human dragged me out of Las Vegas, the ride was brutal, she made me fall, there was no seat, just a weird teddy bag. I no groceries.
