  • I started singing this Nigun one Friday night and then because it was Shabbat and I didn’t want to forget it (or turn on my phone), that night I sang it over and over again. I dreamed of it, hearing the melody all which ways and directions, definitely mixing myself up in the melody. I sang it the next day (and omg, I hoped I sang it the same way, cause I had sung it so many times to remember it by then), and the day after I recorded it and a bunch of instruments with it.
It’s fairly simple. It’s maybe a little epic. It’s fun to sing and sing with more than one person. Sorry the video and audio syncing isn't perfect.
I’m sure there’s a lot of longing in this Nigun for people, community, Jewish fraternity, and divine union. Perhaps it will unfold best when it is sung in community and yet still with that longing for togetherness.
