There's a pair across the street from my house who have a nest and swoop people walking from over a block away from it. Thankfully, the vast majority of locals have a deep respect for the birds and have simply learned how to deal with the swooping rather than getting angry at them.
These vulnerable native birds need protection. Just walk away and don't stress them out. Make sure when you mow lawns or cut plants you aren't disturbing their nest or chicks.
I will be damn I can never stand out there without ducking for cover from those plovers I been swooped before but I never left the tree not gonna lie but that’s how chicken I was
It really upsets me to see someone deliberately distressing the parents, it’s not funny it’s annoying and unnecessary..leave the poor things alone..old video or not ..they are protected too
@@keepclearofthemoors8886 Yes, protected. That's what I have been conveying to various people on UA-cam. There is one particular person who has uploaded videos about them and has several of them kept in cages. They looked really stressed. I'm sure if you search for the video I'm referring to you'll find it. There's two pairs I keep an eye on who reside along an old rail corridor parkland here in Adelaide. I have a real passion and concern for them. They really struggle on hot days for water here in Adelaide. Thanks for caring Becky.
@@garynewton1263 I live on fleurieu in SA and I care! I have two at my back fence who have just started nesting and I’ll be making damn sure they stay safe …I cannot believe someone would ever put them in a cage..that breaks my heart ..good on you for caring! I’ll be teaching my kids to do the same.
At my school we have a oval and there is like 3 nests. And we can't play feild sports cuz of the dam plovers smh. Like if you have read this comment plz.

Why are you annoying them?
Just leave them alone.
If you have to be around them offer some water for drinking or some crickets or worms for them.
Exactly. Leave them alone,
